Meh I turn the front wheel the way Im gonna lift it and heave it up not like that.

Knowing my luck if I done it that way I would push it over the other side Embarassed

I would ask all those goons just standing there to lift it, while I'd pretend to be injured and unable to help.. Cool Rolling Eyes

Nah only ever had to lift my RS125 up and that only weighs around 114kg and no problem with the good ole giddy up son.

that method wd be fine on a dry road, but chances are if you have come off, its slippy, so ur feet might slip and u wd land on ur bum

when i dropped my 600 over xmas i just pulled up on the bars and then lifted the tank

its amazing what you can lift when u still have adrenaline pumping from an off

It's the smart way of doing it, pretty much anyone should be able to lift any kind of bike doing it that way.

Arrow Jump up and down swearing
Arrow Look arround franticly seeing if any bits fell off
Arrow Notice your full tank of petrol is emptying itself allover the road
Arrow Grab the grab rail and try to pull up towards you...
Arrow Fail, injure spine
Arrow Limp arround the otherside, ignoreing violent neck twitches
Arrow Heave the bike up so hard it comes back down on you..
Arrow Lay under bike with broken legs, phone for ambulance before passing out...

Isn't that what everyone else does? Shifty

Looks like a good way of doing it, considering your leg muscles are generally FAR more powerfull than your arms or back..

Picking up a 500cc bike safely will be on the test in the not too distant future Exclamation

She's not standing by in pink high heels, fluttering her eyelashes and saying 'oh will some big strong boy please help me'... that might make her 'butch' in some eyes.

I'm not convinced. I've always found I can lift far greater weights with my back than by trying to use my legs. The engine from my 550 can't be that far off 90-100kg, yet I was able to lift it 2ft off the ground onto a table. Tried several times to lift it with my legs because everyone says it's bad to lift with your back, but I couldn't even get it off the floor that way.

I think the Japanese bike test requires you to be able to pick up the bike you're planning on riding. Something like that anyway. It's a good idea and should be on our test too.

iv dropped my SRAD b4 & thats a fat arse bike but iv lifted it MORE then once on my own although on 1st attempts i always underestimate the weight but always get the bike up still!

& i aint built or tall

this always baffled me about the motogp peeps & how they struggle to lift it yet there bikes have been lightened to nearly nothing yet they STILL struggle & loads of time dont succeed Rolling Eyes

WHY!!?

EDIT: WTF weres my avatar gone? it wernt overly big Neutral bit ott

Some kids once knocked over my motorbike outside my house. As 125cc it only weighs about 117kg. So I just grabbed it on the handle bads and under the seat and lifted the bugger up. Wasn't too much hassle. Was craping myself when my mom came running into my room yelling "Someones knocked over your bike". I assumed a car crashed into it, but nah kids knocked it over.
