Removing tyres

got a brand new tyre on an old knackered wheel.

got a bald tyre on the current bike so i need to take the brand new tyre off the old wheel

i've borken the seal and got the tyre to sit in the middle of the wheel but i cant leaver the tyre out so i can remove it.

any tips?

i have no other means of transport and my local garage is quite far away so i'd rather get it off myself then take it somewhere (plus i need the experience)

If you managed to break the bead then getting the tyre off is just a matter of a couple of tyre levers, rim protectors (I use a bit of leather) and brute force.

Try using washing up liquid and water all around the rim, just be careful of flying tyre levers!

Does this work for tubeless tyres ? like the ones on small scooters
i have both in need of tyre removal / refitting

well i finally did it
took a bit of my finger off as well as the tyre but its all done

just a case of leavering a bit of the tyre bead out at a time over the wheel rim and hoping it doesn't pop back in when ya try another section

i did this on a 120/60 tyre so scooter tyres should be easy enough

dont think i'll have a go at the 160/60 rear tyre just yet

The trick is to make sure you keep the bit of the bead you aren't working on pressed right down into the dip in the middle of the wheel.
