If they have just faded spend abit of time with t cut it should bring the colour back out if you spend enough time doing it. Cheaper and maybe easier than a spray job. And it will porbably look better.

sand your old pain off or strip it off, put 3 layers off primer allow about 1h 2 dry each layer, then smoth it off with some wet and dry 1200 sand paper and wash with some warm soapy water, leave 2 try then spray 3 layers off paint allow about 1h again for each layer and rub it down with 1200 paper , wash with warm soapy water then wait for them 2 dry then laquer it, btw wait for the paint 2 dry for at least 1 day somewere warm before u rub it with some 1200 paper, 1200 paper is very fine, its there 2 take the shine off and the laquer adds the shine back but at the same time it acts like a harder, thats how i did mine and they come out fine, just need 2 take your time

Ignore the 3 posts above this one for starters......
First thing to do it decide if it can be restored. Use a paint cleaner like the one Mequiars sell.... Do NOT use TCut... EVER.
Next use a polish & finally a wax. If those 3 steps don't bring it back then it may need refinishing.

Report back.

It's fine if you like trying to get a shine by using liquid sand....It's probably the worse product for restoring a shine you could possibly use. It restores color, but it totally fucks the finish.

It doesn't matter how you use it, it still contains enough abrasives to fuck up a finish. The idea is to have NO scratches in the paint, not replace a few large ones with a bunch of smaller ones.

Depends if the paint is laquerd or not.

T-Cut will just create millions of tiny scratches in the laquer and will do nothing to the paint underneath.

If the paint is unlaquerd then ultra fine autosol or T-Cut will flat it down and bring the colour back.

ZRX61, are you a paint sprayer?
If so, can we see some examples of your superior work?

Sure, heres one:

But I also had to restore it from a crashed wreck before I painted it.

Very good but I don't see much relevance to motorcycle paintwork there.
I see from your albums that you also like playing with model aircraft as well.

Maybe you'd care to explaint io everyone the difference between painting a few square feet of sheet metal & a few hundred sq ft of sheet metal?.. apart from the area aspect that is..?

Er, no, where'd ya get that idea? There are some pics on there of drone engines that I hosted for a friend so he could post them elsewhere, the red 2& 4cyl ones, Is that what ya talking about? If so those things are about 2.5 feet across. The little V8 is a scale Liberty engine, it runs & cost $7500. It's actually for sale if you'd like to buy it?

LOL! Bloody Air Force insisted the finish look EXACTLY the same as the way it was the day it left the factory. It's DuPont Centari with the catalyst left out to flatten the finish.

I'm trying to find a pic of the red Vette I did with the strawberry pearl & ghost flames...
Edit: I think I used some old Binks paint cannon on the Spit....
