Quick and reliable don't mix when it comes to a 125. If you want both these things, don't get a 125.

An CGs aren't slow, you race a CG against a 50 and then tell me which is slow as hell.

Get a DT125 then.

Only thing I had go on my RS 125 is the relay. Cost me £1400 for it ( second hand ) Great condition. insurance is £800 TPFT, but I live in a shitty area so you could probably get it for less. And it is quick, just you need to buy a new piston ever 6000-8000km and get it fitted in ( if you cant do it urself, but its pretty simple to do ) they cost about £80.

The perfect 125 seems to be the CBR125 at the moment. It's currently the number 1 selling bike and usually sales figures are good things to go along with.

Quick for a 4stroke but still not in 2stroke realm, but it will be much more reliable and you won't have to worry about oil or the stupid and highly embarrassing "ring ding ding ding" when trying to warm it up.

DT125 (either the 'r' or the 'x')

Quick (90mph+), reliable (more than the rs) and fairly cheep to insure!

Wink Thumbs Up

I'd say my CBR125 is the perfect 125. Pretty to look at, forgiving, cheap petrol, does 74mph (at full throttle), comfortable.

Wanna buy mine?

Nothing to worry about really. You'll be used to it within a few days I reckon. It's quite surprising how quick you get used to it IMO. My bike's restrictors 'fell out' the day I got it, which was strange, but I'd say within a day or two I was used to the power delivery. Now I just want more...

CG125's aren't that slow...

The limiting factor's the rider... Very Happy

I would of had a CBR125 if it wasn't for the fact I HATE the riding position and I can't be arsed with plastics...

My Xr125. Speedo read 74mph (bollocks, was only 62mph when measured against my mate's CBR RR), but quick enough to be in the middle lane of the motoways most of the time. I bought the XR cos the DT was ridiculous to insure in london due to theft and the CBR looked Ghey! XR all the way. It has the same pushrod engine as the CG but much more capable chassis. IT easily wheelies and stoppies and i think it's lighter than the CG?
