Just wondering what sort of speeds I'm likely to reach down either of Cadwell's straights.

For a start, if you're looking at your speedo at your top speed, well, don't!

Top speed should come just before you brake very hard on the dippy bit after charlies I reckon. Not a good time to be looking anywhere else but the corner ahead.

Reckon I was probably getting 150 or so on the r6 there.

If you want to enjoy top speed for the sake of it, get yourself to Elvington Smile

I shouldn't be at all worried about the top speed, it'll be the last thing on your mind! I'd expect you to hit about 140 on the start finish straight just before you back off for Coppice, and again about 130 ish on Park straight just before braking into Park.
Start slow and build up pace gradually, I guarantee you'll find yourself too fast into Charlies 1, and also into the right hander just before the mountain, on the first couple of sessions. Pretty safe though, the tarmac is grippy and you can brake fairly hard into the turn. You'll also find you can take Coppice faster than you think.
One tip - don't take too wide a line through Barn, it's slightly off camber on the outside!

U can buy a lil speedo from demon tweaks which saves top speed, and other interesting things such as 0-60mph speed and stuff, £191 lough so bit pricey..

Hey, I was at cadwell today with afew mates sorting out the ducatis at an open pitlane day. A few people came off pretty bad. Not fantastic weather for racing. Thumbs Down

You'll be racing with New Era MCC then?!

Beware, it appears there are only 6 laps per race this weekend. Seems a bit short, but it is a long circuit, just hope it isn't all fogged out again, otherwise it'll just be the wodland circuit. Basically, you turn right at Coppice instead of going left up the hill. They make a temporary hairpin between the two sections of track that go in opposing direction, so you end up heading towards Coppice, hard on the breaks for the hairpin and then off towards the Mountain.

Not my favourite track at all. I hate the woodland circuit! Crying or Very sad

Cheers, I intend to! I like the track, never raced Woodlands section though. It does seem we're on 6 laps rather than 8, still to be confirmed as they're still chopping classes about a bit! I don't mind too much as it's gonna be freezing . . . .

Yep! Cadwell in March is always cold and usually wet. Hope you enjoy your weekend though.

PS, try to get there early and set up camp near the Scruit's bay, which is in the tin bay near the club house, towards the lower end of the paddock. It's hard work pushing your bike uphill through the entire paddock and accross the boggy grass if your unlucky enough to be in the fields out back! It gets quite crowded there!

Also, most of the big boys will be there Thursday night, due to a Friday ACU test day, not sure if you are booked on this, but alot of people are. I think it's full now!
