Well its got to the stage where im just fed up now. Im going to college 2 days a week for half the day as my parents dont want me there all day Rolling Eyes .

At home kills me, i hate sitting at home doing f all day but thats all i do now. I got 4 more weeks and this is a nightmare. my social life is sh*t and hardly go out. my gf has been really good and comes over in the weekend but it isnt helping the relationship as used to spend a lot more time together, i dont mean its breaking us up at it isnt but just hard to spend the same amount of time together, also my pelvis "rack" gets in the way of some things Crying or Very sad

I want to go out more and more like Yokos on saturday but i wont be able to make that apparently and just another night sitting in doing f all becuase my parents are wrapping me up in cotton wool. i know i cant rush things but the doctor said try and strech yourself and im not at all. If i do something that going to mildly strech myself it me perswading them its a good idea and esp my mum just picks holes in the plan Rolling Eyes . Really annoys me!!

Also i want to get back to biking ASAP and i know this could take awhile and i have dates to aim for these things and i know its highly unlikly i will make these dates and know this but are always like "well you dont need to buy a bike yet, when your better" (want it there for motivation and as soon as im ready, dont want to be ready then searching for a bike) and "you wont be riding then more like months after that" and it just puts a real downer on it all, if i didnt have hard goals the overall recovery would be much longer and i have already recovered much faster than they or the doctors expected and i feel i wouldnt have if i didnt have to motivation to get back to normal.

i also hit my rack and think i damaged something which could delay me recovery even more.

Im trying to get money together for buying a bike but my dad is delaying loaning the money and other stuff and if i had a bike brought (some around i like at the moment) and that would give me extra motivation. They also want to delay lending the money to me because they think im going to fast but i dont want the bike for riding stright away and tell them this 100 times and doesnt make a difference Crying or Very sad

So anyone got any tip to get though this, got another 3 1/2 weeks and that just till the rack comes off and going to be a fair few weeks aftre that i can ride and get back to my lifguarding job

Hi

Difficult to say.

One idea that did pop into my head was to buy a cheap bike (really cheap) and strip it down / rebuild it (powder coat frame, etc). Not sure whether you would be into doing the lifting (even a 125 engine will take a fair amount of effort to lift, especially avoiding catching the mechano set), so maybe doing the same for a bicycle would pass the time and be vaguely related.

All the best

Keith

Yea thats something ive always wanted to do but i cant bend/lift things id need to and the chance of hitting my rack again isnt worth the risk, im not into bicycle unfortantly, my passon is only motorbike.

Arrow Also to my my situation worse, i have 12 exams papers to take roughly, i am taking just 2 Crying or Very sad AND one of these is the same day as i have my frame taking off, i rang the hospital and no way of getting the rack of week eariler only weeks later so do i do exams and have the rack and week extra which mean FOR my birthday or dont do the exam and just do well on the 1 paper and leave it for next year as planed Thinking

I suppose it's just one of those things, when you're recouperating from a bad injury. Makes you feel like crap, perhaps you just have to grin and bear it. Maybe try talking to your parents at length about why you want to do these things, as even if they're not helping as such, it is understandable that they're still worried about your wellbeing.

Sorry you feel like crap mate, chin up. Smile It won't be so long before you've regained your independence and don't feel like a cat on heat. Laughing Wink

You've only had a six weeks off. Can't you delay having the rack off and take all 12 papers? If you do badly, do them all again next year Smile

If you do well, go to uni.

I can only speak from my experience, which was some time ago now Exclamation, but even without the last 6 weeks of lessons in those three subjects you could answer 95% of the papers.

Anyway, good luck with the special measures - it would be a shame to have to repeat the year and I am sure you would lose some motivation.

Is going out to places not an option, any friend's that drive, your gf? Or even getting your parent's to drop you off.

A night out to the cinema then for a meal with your gf is easily do-able.

Andy if you're over 18 do this for Yoko's thing, give your parents the finger, say i'm an adult and would like some freedom and hobble out the door and into Slash's car Laughing

You need to get out the house mate, it sucks being at home when everyone else is still at college etc.

sorry to hear your so low at the moment buddy.

exams, recouperation and no bike must really suck. i can see why ur parents aren't to happy to stump up the cash straight away to get new bike thats just what parents are like.

think you do need to get out of the house and do something to fill the void that your day has become. play the doctors say i need to do more stuff to recover card Thumbs Up

and might even let you go on my bike when your better. Shocked

all the best

Andy mate, whereabouts do you live?

Seems to me you've had a shoddy time, glad you're on the mend.

I'll add all the bikes at my disposal to the 'let andy have a go when he's fixed' list!
