(probably should be in the workshop, but no one ever goes there. Sorry. I need an answer )

Bandit.
So i remove the seat and airfilter covers, unlock the tank bolts and raise it so i can get underneath. This is as far as i have currently got because i cant see any reason why as soon as i disconnect the tubes from the petcock valve all the petrol wont come rushing out as im wrestling with the tank.
What happens when you pull the 3 tubes out of the tank and petcock ?

(Guessing)

one will be a breather tube? probably going to the airbox maybe?
one will defenately be going to the carbs (this wil be the gusher)
one will be a vaccum tube

if your fuel tap is switched to off and the vaccum tube isn't being.. vaccumed. then no ful should come out (at least not allot)

best bet is take each off carefully, bend the tube in half so it will prevent any sudden pishing of fuel, do it one by one, if one is pishing then put it back on and rethink...

make sure you have somewhere to put the tank without damageing the tap or risking it falling over

It really isn't hard, get some help, if your really worried get some propper hose cut off clips (most car places sell them), or big strong bullclips and some rag.

Just hold a rag over the end of the pipe that connects to the pump thing. You have to take the blasted thing off just to get to the spark plugs, so the maker will have made it easy enough.

youll have a vacuum fuel tap, so it will be "prime, reserve, on" right?
turn it to either on or reserve and no fuel will flow. Unbolt the tank, lift it as far as it will go and unclip the 2 pipes going to your fuel tap, there should be a thin one (vacuum hose) and a fat one (fuel hose) a little bit of petrol will piss out probably, if youre concerned put a rag under it.
