I bought my Nsr 125r a few months ago and de-restricted it, new exhaust and took the plate out that was between the carb and reeds. i also put a new o-ring chain on it, however it will still only do 70 - 75 it revs to bout 9 - 10k in 5th then when i change to 6th it just seems to have no power and wont get anymore speed and just slowly slows down so i have to change back to 5th. Anyone got any ideas why it has no power?

surely you've got a french import which is restricted on electronics , write me your serial number (the label between the yokes) and i ,will tell you (begins by ZDCJC22..... the letter following 22 is probably a B or a E )

ok , that's a UK specs . so you've got a problem because you should hit 100 mph . when last de-coking has been done on this bike ? how long since rings or piston change ? which mileage on the clock ?
i suggest first of all that you go to your next honda garage and have a compression test (it will take 5 mn to test) . then de-restricting is a whole package , you need upjetting ,carbon reeds and race sparkplug . i wait for your answers

what is "de-coking" ? i havnt changed the piston and rings since the bike was new i think, i boutght the bike with 8000 miles and its done 11 now.

Im putting race reeds in it tomorow, ive put an o-ring chain on it. havnt got a new sparky yet and i havnt upjetted it cause i dont know how to do that.

So it might jsut need new piston and rings and upjetting then?

de-coking means de-carbonizing . 2 strokes engine needs to be clean every 7500 miles (12000 kms) . the chain has nothing to do with the engine . upjetting is necessary when you de-restrict your engine . on the pict are the jets to change . main 138 , slow 42 , power 65 , https://www.dellorto.co.uk (carb 28PHBH/FD)

Don't be mean! There could be a good reason he types like that such as:

He's like Joey Deacon.

That's it, that's the only reason I can think of
