Ok, my pelvic rack is soon to be off and the orginal date was 19th June. However after the nurse saw it we got this moved to 12th June (day before my 18th) and the GF is coming over that night so we can wake up my bday together.

Since she has been so good though all ive put her though i thought i wouldnt tell her and keep it secret and suprise her to make her happy as i havnt made it easy since april if that makes sense.

So when i was going into college all last week i was very carful what i said to everyone and what date is was coming off (i get asked a lot) and the poeple i did tell i make sure they knew my GF didnt know so still be a surprise Thumbs Up

Anyways, it was my prom last night (9th June) and was feeling really down as didnt think i looked good in a tux with the rack on and knowing how good GF would look thought it was sh*t i would be like disabled and all that. So we get to her house and parents all talking while we waited for limo.

So my GFs dad says in front of my dad and GF, "Andy, whens the rack coming off??" to which my dad butts in and says "Oh it coming off this monday" I gave him a shocked looked so say "shut the f*ck up!" and he says it again. This has really got to me as:
1. I sat him and my mum down and told them i didnt want her to know as havnt been able to do anything nice for her since it all happend.
2. He says i should have reminded him before we got there as it was obvious he would have forgotten Shocked

Luckly my GF says she didnt hear but now knows ive got something planned and this has messed it all up loads. I also felt my dad is only saying sorry so we can forget about it. He also lied to my mum and said i never told him but she remembers when i did.

I said i cant forgive him anytime soon, am i being harsh or just reacting as anyone would? He has done loads for me since the crash and do appriated but has messed everything up so much i just dont know weather its justified or not.

Comments please! Thumbs Up

Yes...you're being too harsh...parents are silly creatures, if yours are like mine then they don't get out much and when they do get the chance to talk to other adults socially then everything else tends to go out the window. Laughing

Me personally, I reckon your parents are great since they are letting you get back on a bike when you are still living with them. That itself deserves a lot as most would put their foot down. So, your surprise didn't go to plan. Tell the gf it was a surprise for her. Not the end of the world at all, at least the date hasn't been set back.

Yea this is what i was thinking but everytime we go to talk about it i just say "i dont want to talk about this as it will turn into an arguement" and he continues anyway and ends in an arguement.

Is a but unfair on my mum aswell as she getting both of our bitching and probably driving her crazy Shocked

Yea defernatly cant deny that but its just my dad doesnt know when to not tell everyone everything. For instance when he when out with my bro for his birthday drink he told a random waitress he had never met a in depth decription of my crash Shocked

Yea no i just felt when he was saying sorry it wasnt because he was genuinely sorry more he didnt want to fall out.

I guess that i might be overreacting though Confused

people cant be relied on to keep secrets
if you want something to be kept a secret you cant tell anyone, as if you do it wont be a secret for long.

If a few people know and a few dont, you can expect the people who know, to remember who are the other people who are allowed to know and who arent.

sorry this one got out tho

It sounds like a perfectly innocent mistake, just an annoying one. Don't worry though, I expect your GF will be just as touched that you went to all the trouble of making it a suprise for her in the first place.

Just let it go, life's too short.

When you're waking up with your bird I don't think it'll matter much to you then, so don't leave a cloud hanging over your old man until then.

In one ear, out the other. That's just the way it is.

Live with it and yes, stop being harsh.

When i said i cant forgive you i ment i couldnt forgive me a few hours after it happend as he just wanted to not fall out, he wasnt genuinely sorry and kept making excuses for what he did. Yea he forgot but still not right to make excuses, if i had done the same i would just say how sorry i was and he didnt at all.

I know it sounds harsh but im sick and tired of my dad doing something and then making up and doing simular thing again. Its like he hasnt learnt anything from the arguement. If i fall out with someone i try to make sure i dont fall out with them again for simular things that ive done. Its hard to explain but has got to the point where we just cant get on at all anymore Thumbs Down

Maybe when you are better and less dependent on your folks for lifts and stuff things will improve. With what you've all been through I am not surprised tension has crept in.
