I reckon nearly 5000 miles out of a set of pads is pretty good ____________________ My Bikes in order:- Yamaha RXS100 / Suzuki X7 250 / Yamaha RD350LC / Kawasaki

Less than 5,000 miles for front pads doesn't sound good to me.
(Unless a lot of it was on track!)
I've just replaced rear pads at a bit over 5k (lots of filtering), but the front have got a long way to go.
I would've thought pad compound is more likely to be the culprit, rather than radial calipers.
Get some that aren't made from cheese ____________________ You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move but should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move but does, use the Duct Tape. |

Got about 5500 miles on my Blade and the pads have plenty of life left in them. but the wear is all down to the rider and the roads they ride. I wouldn't worry about it, just change them as needed.

Cheers all. Thought it was worth an ask, as I said, never got near changing pads on the 954's at this sort of mileage. Perhaps I'm getting more aggressive in my old age. Grrrr. |
