just been for my first ride out without the baffle in my scorpion exhaust!!! Cool

the grins in the helmet were plenty, but i was also wondering if people thought it was too loud!!!!

my usual thought is to say fuck em, but i got some looks from people as i rode past, not sure if it was because it was loud or just because it sounded meatier and people wanted to see what it was that was coming!!! Twisted Evil

what are your thoughts, anyone else worry about their pipes???
(not not your water pipes, or any other kind either!) Very Happy

I started the FZR600 for the 1st time and the Leo Vince exhaust sparked into life, and then promptly woke the dead and their diciest relatives as well.

Fook me, it is loud. Not sure whether the baffle has been taken out, or its just plain loud.

As I was blipping the throttle to 4k rpm or so, the noise and grunt that was being thrown out of the 2 inch hole was making me laugh out loud and cringe as to what the neighbours must have thought Rolling Eyes

At the moment its funny that the bike makes so much noise, but when I'm trying to go to work and start waking my 2 year old son up early, then the novelty will soon wear off I'm sure.

Its the little pops and farts that make it sound cool.

Hi

Personally a loud exhaust doesn't bother me. But I think that most people think they are a pain (at best). If people are looking then most are probably thinking "Chav".

Also, why give the police more notice to get the radar gun aimed for when you come round a corner?

All the best

Keith

It also gives the van driver more notice that you are there before he makes an unidicated manover Wink

Id say most people probably detest loud cars/bikes but for the odd few that give me the rev gesture I always willingly comply Razz I personally love the sound of a loud can on inline 4's the high pitched squeel like an F1 car as it hits the power band is awsome. I'd never consider a loud can on a twin, V4 though.

Neutral why?!?! The best bit about my SV when i had it was the race can, it sounded so nice. It was a nice deep grunty sound and was great, still reved high so wasnt like a cruiser bike that sound just all wrong.

I hope your not another V-Twin hater Tut Tut

Had a race can on my ZRX1100 it was alright pootling arount town and short trips but on long trips it was just a pain..Way too loud and gave me a headache after a couple of hundred miles and I always used earplugs. In the end I put the standard one back on.

Wouldn't bother me if my bike was just a weekend toy or I was a fair weather biker, but just to loud for every day and longish trips.

I just like the pitch you get with inline 4's, always reminds me of f1 cars which i think sound awesome. I own a twin so i very much don't hate them, I just think the noise they make is just noise, no real change in pitch no matter what the revs, they just get louder!

Nope. Not since it's been welded back on. No doubt it'll bother me again in it's own good time though.

I had a Harris on an old Z1000 that was fun for me, but if I get the crap scared out of me by a KTM farting - oh sorry, thundering purposefully along, I generally just think: Tosser.. Depends whether you're the one riding the thing!

BMW Rseries exhausts are laughably quiet though.

occasionally. i know it is frustrating even when my brother leaves early. can sometimes wake me up.

but the fact cars part like the red sea cos they have heard, then seen you, and taken appropriate action far outways this.

it is a HUGE safety feature Thumbs Up Mr. Green
