I'll tell you one thing about cars vs bikes - cars are more bloody expensive.

My car is in the garage today. So far it's cost £350 (TECH2 test, compression test and an engine strip) and they haven't even found what's wrong with it. Or they just haven't told me yet - probably want me to sit down first so they can give me the bad news about how much it will cost to replace the necessary parts.

pfft bikes look better, go better, we dont wear rubber, hes only jealose because hes too much of a cripple to ride bikes, yes cars handle better in and out of corners, but still in the real world we dont race cars on a track (apart from nuremberbebrebreg ect)

was it just me or did that bike seem alittle slow? sure it wasnt 0-60 in 3.2, ive been told me cat is 0-60 in 3.5? i know it may be old, but so is my bike :S

hmm, well the supra would have been absolutely raped if the bike had had half the money spent on the supra thrown at it. The porsche and the R1 was a close call, but again you could have a full blown race bike for the same money. In a straight line bikes will kill pretty much anything, but admittedly cars can corner faster. On the road you dont have chicanes and mad corners too often so we still win.

Cars are faster than bikes on "most" tracks, in cornering terms at least. But on the road, its rather different...

Find a track that both Rossi and Schumacher race on.

Put Schumacher in his Ferrari, record his top lap. Put Rossi in his Ferrari, same again.

Put Schumy on an M1, record his best time, again, do the same with Rossi.

Who'd win do you think?

Am I the only one that is sick to the back teeth of these bike vs car arguements.

Who cares Rolling Eyes

Bikes are fast in a straight line and from a standing start with awesome acceleration, cars are better in the bends and under braking.

I know that this 'pub' arguement will go on for all of time, but please Silence

Its been done already.

Rossi in a Ferrari was only a second or so slower the Shumi.

But Shumi when he rode a Ducati MotoGP bike was about 15 seconds down on the average time.

Wink

Comparing cars and bikes is daft, some people prefer bikes, some cars, some both.

Deal with it! Thumbs Up

Car vs bike is a mute argument, they both have plus and minus points.
For a car to rival a bike on acceleration it needs big amounts of money, all it proves is even the car boys know bikes are bloody fast, by the fact they spend god knows what then race a basically standard bike.

For me a ride a bike because its fun, for the record, I've only ever been beat by a car in the wet.

Fifth gear did a car vs bike teat and the bike won, done on lap times!!!!, The top gear on was biased toward the car, would you try to push the car out the way at those speeds!!!.

I was thinking today about this debate... it occurred to me that to beat my 17 year old 600, which cost me £500, somebody would need at least nearly 40k for a car with comparable performance as standard Laughing

the only reason the supra won was because it was a roll on from 35 mph race and I personally think a bit of a shit rider too

Put that yammy and that supra on a 0-180mph run and watch it get ass raped

Myth. I have never had a car out corner me.

F1 cars defy the laws of physics and are always used as the yardstick.

You put an average 911 against a K6 GSXR and i bet you'd be suprised how well the bike does.

PB did a test in the late 80's and put a FZR1000 Genesis (some of you may not remember these) against a countach and the bike came out on top.

The main reason cars seem to go quicker in these tests is that a car is easier to drive on the limit and the reults of going beyond the limit arent as severe as on a bike so the bike rider only rides at 75-80% of the bikes potential whereas the car maybe nearer 95%

i've never driven a car before, but am i the only one that thought the guy in the lambo woz trying to drift the car to much round corners? probly could have made up valuable time if he hadn't have done that on one of the bends
