A helmet lock has a similar bolt action to a disc lock, but instead of fastening through the disc, it goes though the metal D ring and keeps the helmet with the bike and off of the floor. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

You could buy a small cable lock, and put it round the chin piece and round some part solid on the bike ?? ____________________ CBT - Done | Theory - Passed | Test - 4th Oct [PASSED!]

I never use the helmet lock unless im surrounded by other bikes (usually at knockhill) and use said way of attatching it by the D-ring. However ive since bought a new Shark RSF2 Vision which uses the quick release system so im a bit miffed as to what i can do...it might fit through the opening in the male connector ____________________ Will work for petrol

I find it incredible that anyone uses a Helmet lock.
It is one bit of kit that can really save your life and people are willing to just leave them anywhere not knowing what is going to happen to them. You see scooters all the time with their helmet on the road chained to the wheel!
People don't seem to realise just how fragile a helmet is, one big knock and it's useless.
I for one always want to keep it with me to keep an eye on what's happening to it! ____________________ Love is 1050cc |

Bah! I dont lock up my helmet enough to warrant buying something for it, i think ive locked it up twice in the entire time ive had the bike. And you got to remember the RX doesnt have any storage...if it did the contents would probably loose me 10mph off top end ____________________ Will work for petrol

I always worry that if someone does manage to steal my bike, they will only need a knife to get a helmet (admittedly it would be useless in an accident but to passers by they will then appear normal. An opportunist theif wouldnt have a lid otherwise, and without one he would be noticed riding down the street by everyone (including the police) ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |
