 Posted: 22:02 - 26 Aug 2006 Post subject: re-registering a Q plated supermoto |
My mate has just called me up asking a question I couldnt really answer. He is dead set on buying a supermoto, and has come across a honda CRF that has been converted for road use. It is a 2003 model has lights indicators and all that jazz and is apparently mint. The bloke selling it wants £1800 which sounds quite cheap, but the bike is on a Q plate. Apparently the guy registered the bike without a document to prove it's age and as such the DVLA gave him a Q plate. Is it possible for my mate to buy this bike, and re-register it with an age related plate (03 reg)? If it is possible what would be involved? any help is much appreciated. ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |

Ive said already that he needs to ring round insurance, as it might be a problem. I thought the bike sounded cheap, but the guy seems genuine, and it hasnt done too many road miles. I know that you couldnt change a Q plate that was given for a reason, but surely if the bikes age can be proven (which im not sure how to do, I was hoping someone could shed some light on this) then it should in all logical sense be able to be put onto an age related plate.? ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |

Yeah I wouldnt buy a bike that was that much of a chew on as my only bike. But Ive tried persuading him against the idea of a supermoto, especially one in such a high state of tune. He was looking at a VFR 400, but that got sold. ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |
