We met online!

Now, in many peoples' minds that conjures up a couple of sad, fat, lonely, geeky weirdos at home.. bored, having a wank in front of pc porn, dreaming of someone else who will wank them instead

In my opinion, (but I am a bit odd) we are quite 'normal'

It was almost 5 years ago.. it was after the New Year we got together. It initially started in a chat room, of all places. Just a name flying in and out. Funny comments, making each other laugh, all innocent. Then personal messages... and then the swap of phone numbers.
Then came the late night calls. Nothing serious. Just friendship.
But it developed into something more.

I was a single parent of a 5 year old child. Money was tight, yes I admit. I hit a hard patch, and I couldn't pay my phone bill. He paid it for me. Just like that. Because if I lost my phone, he lost me..so to speak.
And right there I thought..hmm, maybe he likes me. He likes talking to me maybe ?

Then my phone broke. Again, a big issue
Next day in the post.. a PHONE, with a red rose under the handset !! I think he liked me

We exchanged photos, webcams, phone calls became a constant, and then we met.
And that was it.

We moved in together not long after, and are now engaged. We have had ups and downs (who doesn't), but are now very content and happy

My Daughter knows him as 'Dad', and loves him a heap ! He IS Daddy

Before I met someone online, I would always think of those 'online lovers' on TV..UGH, dirty pervs, can't they meet someone in the real world
But, we have no control over how things happen
We are not monsters, I think I am okay. I look pretty-ish, earn a living, blah blah...

I met my other half via a forum many many moons ago, must be at least 6 years ago, didn't really talk to him - and always thought he was a prick

I then briefly met him at a show - but nothing came of that.

Then one day something happened and banter had been going back and forth between us, and then we started talking via PM & yahoo msger etc after about a week we agreed to meet and haven't really been parted since

We've been thru so much stuff in the past 2.5 years, and I'm glad it was him I've been thru it with, and not anyone else.

I'd seen McJam in the rock club in Stoke I used to go to every friday night, then, (by pure chance) saw a website profile of him. I sent him a PM just saying hello and asked him if it was him I'd seen in the club.

I said I'd say hello next time I saw him, so I did (think I introduced myself as karen moomin ), we just talked and I soon realised that he was an interesting person and so different to some of the idiotic men I'd had the unfortune to meet.

A couple of weeks later and we were spending the whole evening just the two of us talking and stuff, it was pretty obvious there was chemistry although I never dreamed by messaging him it would have progressed how it did!

We started dating and the rest is history! We are now engaged and are getting married in July 2008.
