I want to streetfighter an old gpx 600r to use as winter bike, as front fairing already missing. I want to put wide handle bars on it. Where do I get, or how do I sort out the top yoke to take bars?

I know this pic is not a GPX, but its the same stlye set up.

remove the bars that are on then buy some risers of an enduro drill yoke for risers and fit renthals or what ever bars you want

on that bike at least the standard bars look like they unbolt (4 allen key bolts) different if there part of the yoke

+ you might need longer cables and brake lines so might not be worth it if it's just a winter hack.

Busters do a fairly inexpensive handlebar clamp that attaches round the top of the fork stanchions. You should find there is just enough sticking through if you remove the standard handlebars. Off the top of my head, you need 24mm of stanchion for them to get an adequate hold.

You have the exact same setup as my old GPZ. Here's what I did. Tension on the wiring to the switchgear was the biggest issue, I had to do some rearranging of the loom (cut back the wrapping where the wires join the main part of the loom and re-wrapped with the "split" up to the the bars further back it to create more slack).

A realy, really shitty, bolt-on "stealth" headlight/indicator unit I got for about £20 off ebay. Really shitty but good enough for the MOT after my mate crashed it.

EDIT: I'd add, if you go for the clamps, get some big rubber grommets to blank off the hole in the middle or water will sit there and the circlip that holds the bung in the forks will weld itself in place with rust. Rolling Eyes
