Hey all,
Didn't tell anybody about this when it happened as it really got me down, but on the 17th Aug I had an accident with a Royal Mail van on a backlane. Luckily only the bike was hurt.
It was a blind right hand bend, wet roads I was going about 25 round this single track road, towards the left of the road. Then all of a sudden out comes Mr Postman going far too fast for the conditions in the middle of the road, no seatbelt etc. Both me and my pillion believe it was his fault.
Anyway, the driver was a complete arsehole and forced me, still in shock, to admit liability at the scene or he'd call the police (which in retrospect I should have let him do). Apparently this is what all Royal Mail drivers are "told to do". I managed to get out of this admitting liability in writing by informing my insurance that the document (scrap paper in his hand just a signature from me) was signed under duress.
Anyway, today I've recieved a letter, and Royal Mail are willing to settle at 50/50. I'm thinking about settling to end the hassle, although I'll have to get the bike done myselfas it's a Cat C write-off and my cover is only TPFT. I just thought I'd ask you guys what you think on the situation, and if there's any way I could get things sorted in my favour. Cheers for your help in advance people

Kinda hard now, but never admit nothing, thats what I have learnt recently
And i'm sure if you could point out and prove he made you sign it at the scene, you should be able to sort somwthing out.
Also if the Royal Mail guy made you admit liability, why would they come down and agree a 50/50
Best of luck with it any how |
