It was different! 2+ hrs of induction. H&S security etc. Signed loads’ forms saying not got sell of secrets etc.

Then up to my office! Even got a desk to sit at! Smile

1st things introduced me to the rest of the team (about 20 of them) and then got me on the job!

1st thing was install a rack mounted server and setup oricale8 on it!

All 1’Sts for me. Raid/Rack/Oracle!

Then played about with the intranet looking at the systems finding out how to log my own hrs etc and laughing at the pics of the other staff!

Best things are get up to 2hrs for lunch
Finish whenever after 4:30pm or 3:30 Fridays and start anytime up to 9:45

Downside missed the cutoff for this months pay! Crying or Very sad

Upside, should take home £1600 next month!

In my short working life, I've found that the bigger the company, the bigger the pile of 'stuff' Shifty you have to wade through before you can sit down and do any work.

It took me forever (about a week) to actually get down to any work in this job because IT took so long sorting my computer out and I kept having to do inductions and training modules. Health and Safety is a big, big deal here.

Hope you still are still enjoying the job six months later on. Thumbs Up

Much as I enjoy hearing every fine detail of your life, may I suggest you don't tell everyone about what they have after your first day of work.
You'd be surprised what is and isn't restricted information at work, and altough this is probably OTT, I'd hate for you to get fired and post for another 6 months about being shit with debt.

Robby:

Today I had a crap at work and went to the toliet about 4 times.

I had 1 cup of tea. 2 rolls and a pack of crisps.

I also had to blow my nose at one point. And almost fell asleap in one of the labs.
