I'm about to install nitrous to my old GSXR oilboiler engine. Would it be better to postion the injectors on the carb inlet rubbers or should I drill the carb inlets themselves? I've read quite a bit about installing nitrous but haven't found much info on this.

(The engines an '89 shortstroke 750 and the carbs are 38mm mikuni flatslides)

In general the closer to the inlet valve the better. It gives the nitrous charge less time and distance to absorb heat.

The system will be a little less efficient (less bhp/min/lb nitrous) if you mount further from the inlet valve but unless you are drag racing and looking for every little extra % it's not significantly important.

Depending on how pooly designed the injectors (nitrous) are it is sometimes better to install them in the bottom of the intake runners where they cause less restriction to flow.

What make of kit did you get btw?

Thanks for that Spanner monkey. Its a Dynotune kit. I only want an extra 40bhp so i'm not too bothered just like doing things correctly.

How is it activated?

The thing with nitrous is that if you put a 40-shot into it, you get 40HP increase, instantly, regardless of revs or throttle openings. You want to be on at least 80% throttle, prefereably higher before the nitrous activates. You also need to be at fairly high rpm. Too low a rpm and your cylinder pressures will go through the roof and the results can be devastating for your engine.

Glad to hear it. So many people throw nitrous systems on their bikes without doing any research end up in a world of expensive pain.
