Can anyone please tell me the basic bits i need on the front end for a mot.
My zx has been giving me loads of troubles converting it to a streetfighter and now i think the only way is to minimise so i can get it through it's ticket.Once through i may retry a few ideas but i needed it back on the road yesterday
Obviously i have the lights/indicators on,the bits im concerned about are the tacho as in there isnt one and warning lights.
On most of the tachos or separate units the lights are there for neutral/oil/high beam.
I can make up something to house these with simple coloured led's if needed but wondered if it would go through a test without them and the tacho?
Any advice much appreciated ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

Thats true and depends on what tester you get and the mood he's in.
But for the mot if your bikes got lights it has to have a full set ____________________ We're all just born to die. So lets have some fun

For the mot if the bike was registered after august 1986 then indicators are required. If you have lights on the bike then you have to have a full set for the mot. ____________________ We're all just born to die. So lets have some fun

take the piss and remove your entire engine!,
other points of note:
suspension (fork seals) leaky rear shock
more than 1.5mm on unsquared tyres
bars that are not too bendy like mine
working lights
brakes that work on the brake test machine
pads with visible amount of material (its supposed to be about 2mm but they generally can't be fucked to take out the pads and measure it).
oh wait I didn't read it right:
for £5 you can make any light work on your bike , not fixing it just wire up some wires to the battery and stick in some switches here and there, mine just have loose conncetions
but I;'ve seen dodgy wiring to make it work ie connect a wire from the bulb in series all the way up to the instrument panel, for both bulbs hey presto it works again. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Cheers for all the replies everyone, mine is newer than 86 so i guess it needs indicators. They are on there anyway so it's not a problem.I will have to get a winker sorted out though to show the indicators working.I have bought a blue light today for the high beam so it's slowly coming together ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:
