There is a slight possibility that i may be getting a track bike. Its a fresh jap import with no V5 etc etc so cant be ridden. Its 45 miles away. I have a trailer with wooden sides (no special bike trailer) which fits the bike in but does not prop the bike up in any way. I dont have a paddock stand as its a single sided swing arm.
Does anyone have any tips on how to strap the bike in / secure the bike best? ____________________ Current : '08 Yamaha FZ1s

You can get paddock stands for single siders you know....
Irrelevant for tieing it down though. Hold it vertical and tie it down at four corners just as you would in a van. If your trailer doesn't have any tie down points, fit some, or improvise.
You're aiming for this kind of setup with the tiedown straps:

Provided you compress the suspension a bit, it's not gonna go anywhere. |

Side stand down (if there is one), in gear and lots of ratchet straps (providing you have something to hook them onto within the trailer) ____________________ Dead nobodies in company cars...

That wasn't one of our best examples of trailer loading... there are no diagonal straps!! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Trailers only need 3 tie straps to secure a bike safely
1 at front 2 at back
Attach back 2 to pillion peg brackets or subframe..
Front one go up through the fairing (follow the forks basically..) and over the headstock and then tie it down, secures it nice and easy.
Van's only really need 1 strap and a paddock stand!
I only use 1 in the van and the bike doesn't move anywhere... the paddock stand supports it mostly to be honest.. I don't really slow down around corners and stuff with the bike in the back compared to normal so 1 strap is definetly good enough |

I wouldn't be confident without four straps, or two straps on the back and a handlebar strap on the front.
And I've heard very bad things about transporting a bike on a paddock stand! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
