Hi

Think it is mainly in the exhaust, although people have mentioned that the later ones have restrictive exhaust ports (think).

Would expect around 50 indicated on the flat if fully derestricted.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Honestly don't know enough about the 50 to comment, but might well do. Think the barrels are cast iron so not quick to play with.

All the best

Keith

Down a slope doesn't coun't a fully restricted bike will reach 50 if you throw it off a cliff. Mr. Green What does it do on the flat? As Keith said above if it does 50 it will already be de-restricted.

the 2004 am6 engine (in your mx50) does have a smaller exhaust port, but its not a restriction
also the carb is only 12mm which again isn't a restriction, its just a bit small

the restriction is in the exhaust
you need to find the obstruction and remove it

it may well be easier to fit a new exhaust like a gianelli or yasuni (best)
some of these come with an adapter to enable them to fit exhaust ports on earlier and older models
nearly all cylinder kits have the larger exhaust port like the older engines
if you fit a larger carb you need to remove a restrictor from the reed valve stub, this isnt really a restrictor unless you fit a bigger carb, so leave it in if your carb is standard

do a search on the web
germany and holland are far cheaper than the uk, even after postage
www.50cc.nl will give you an idea, but i think they're not the cheapest

fisr is first has it got a digi dash as some 2004's where the last of the old version

if it is non digi ony rwstrictions are the 12 tooth front sprocket and the exhuast! my old one had a cheap shit end can bodged to fit and a 13 tooth front would cruise at 50-55 got video on my fone of my mate on it doing a constatnt 50 easy

if it is the digi dash get a arrow system for it and a 13 tooth sprocket also there is a pipe on the carb that needs to be blanked of (not sure if all of them have them) or simpler see the pipe on the expansion chamber cut it and clamp it shut and you will be a bit better and blow torch the mufflers out of the end can and it will go better
