hi just bought this rd for £300 it running and nearly complete,
going to restore on a budget but do the best i can to make it look mint,
just sold my tzr 125 so new summer project has arrived after few weeks looking, had one when i was 17 that was 17 years a go and i loved it to bits.

just been strip last weekend, frame and swing arm off to get powder coated

I didn't realise there was an RD125, what year is it? Look forward to seeing more of this.

Excellent, I had the (very rare) MK3 when I was 17 too, that was 18 years ago now!!

Mine had blue stripes though! Wink

I think I paid £350 for mine all those years ago, due to someone crashing it and bending the forks. I got the forks straightened for £30 and a front wheel off a TZR and job done! Very Happy

dont no what used, i got a polishing kit of ebay, had a go on one of the forks spent about 4 hours on it of rubbing down and polishing, i gave up give it to him , and did them all in lunch break, i did get a quote of £90 to do the lot so was a bargain at £10

Nice project. I had a '85 Mk2 and it was a great bike. I've been looking out for a cheap one but they fetch to much money now.

job done today, tank been stripped to bare metal and found a bit of filler, both side panel decals removed and rubbed down shock been resprayed, just had quote for respraying in pearl white and red mudguard for £100, done a lot of prep work for him.

Frame and swing arm back from powder coaters, new bridgestone tyre fitted, just fitted engine in place.

That's going to be a seriously nice bike. Just don't sell it to a learner when you're done! Razz Want to do something similar with my RXS over the summer. Doubt I'll have the will power to give up riding for a few weeks though. Maybe when I pass my test and get a second bike.

sun is out, got a lot done today, cant start on the front, replace fork seal on friday in work , but broke one of the fork dust seal, so order some from yamaha so will pick up on monday, been let down on panel getting sprayed so back to getting quotes again, hope to get them done in next 2 weeks.

i found picture of my old rd125lc when i was 17, i taken this picture the first day i got it, after having my Kawasaki ar80 was stolen i got my insurance money and bought this.
