Found some VERY cheap Garmin I3's on ebay. Been using these for the last 3 years or so for work and they work well.
Clicky. |

For my recent trip to the Nurburgring I bought a cheapo MyGuide European satnav.
The price for a proper bike satnav is somewhat obscene, also they seem to be just UK and IE mapping. So with the help of a mate who's an electrician (has the right tools) we wired up 12V cigarette electrics to the bikes, cable tied the satnav cradle to the bars and were on our way.
Granted they weren't waterproof like premium bike specific ones, but if it rained I put it into my tank bag.
Just waffling here really. Though maybe this'll act as decent advice for someone considering paying through the nose for something that does the job as well as a top price model. As does Sickpup's original post. ____________________ Sahf East Winnah 4LYF

It says European maps are included on DVD on the listing. I'm guessing you have to copy these to a memory card (Micro SD), then put it in the sat-nav. I've done this with my phone using Garmin Mobile XT, and that wasn't too taxing. I'm guessing this will be even easier provided you put the files in the right place for the sat-nav to find it. ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |

I bought a TomTom for the car a couple of years ago as I had to go to a funeral in London and didn't want to not find it or be late.
What I did is to buy a Ram mount for £30, and wire up a cigarette lighter power socket, under the seat in the frame area.
I then purchased a USB car cigarette power cable.
https://www.chinawholesalegift.com/pic/Electrical-Gifts/MP4-Player/Ipod-Accessories/Ipod-charger/Ipod-USB-Car-charger-16422047541.jpg
And a 2 metre USB cable.
Works fine, absolutely no probs at all. The tomtom displays the next turn ahead in the bottom left, so I have no problems. I can hear it at junctions, but not at speed. ____________________ I've a twin and a 4. |

Have they got a hole to plug earphones in? I'd like to be able to listen to instructions and just look at the screen for back up sometimes |
