No it won't be too much.

Good to see you've come to your senses and are doing what everyone told you to do in the first place. Maybe it's time to give the guy a break now?

Finish the decals on your 125 and someone might give you a decent proce for it.

BTW you were spotted Monday by some of us SE lot on Brighton seafront.

Make sure you factor in insurance to your budget. Have you got decent protective gear as well?

you have only ridden a 28bhp 125 bike before which to be honest is dog slow even though rs125 owners think they are quick !?.

get something with balls like an r1

the power of a sports 600 gets boring within a week

Why stop there, this will last a lifetime Laughing

Seriously Ross, have you looked at the insurance on those gsxr's? It isn't going to be cheap.

the problem is probably going to be insurance,

a 600cc sports floats around grp14-17

a 400cc generally floats around grp11-13

non sports can be anywhere.

Before i got my R6 i was expecting alot from a 600 sport from some of the comments i read. I'd be happy to upgrade to a R1 anytime now, i feel like i'm used to the bike, knowing it's power. It's only really fast when you get up to 10k then it keeps pulling, they havn't got 'much' low down power as you might expect.

Even tho i've only owned her for a few weeks i'd like something that scares me when going straight, i thought the R6 would last me years but i can't see me staying here for long. I don't know about other 600 sports but i'm guessing there around the same speed.

I read back on comments about '600 as 1st bike' & find it funny how some people comment.

BTW, how much you looking to spend on a 03 GSX-R?

Neutral erm ok, my SV650s was like the power of a 400 and i found it fun, yea i got used to it but i wouldnt say it got "boring". Anyways what the point of going to the most powerfull bike first? i love going up step by step, having one bike for years would bore me Thumbs Down

I used to think that when I had my Hayabusa, I chopped it in for an R6 and soon felt bored with that, until I discovered track days, which was then I started to learn how to ride it the way it was meant to be ridden.

If your purely concentrating on speed you'll soon be bored of anything with a set of wheels.

TBH though never been on a 600 on the road i dont think you need anymore than a 600 on the road, even that i cant see you needing more than that on the road,

if you feeling bored so quick try going fast on twistys and then your relise you have so much more to learn about riding fast. Thumbs Up

like davo said anything in a stright line gets boring, you accelerate at the same speed each time so not going to blow you away on any bike IMO

You're right, you don't need more then 600 on the road, but i was expecting so much that i was let down how used to the bike i got in a few weeks, i also agree that i will get the most out of a bike on the track & on the twisties & hopfully appreciate what i have.

Yea, i think all bikes are like that, i went though a stage of wanting to replace my SV after about 2months but then relise it was more power than i NEEDED i just found myself WANTING more and more, def the problem with bikes!! Also the V-twin delivery was quite boring at times, i would have thought the IL4 delivery would be much more exciting.

Don't get me wrong, the top end is more then enough. Mid-range the bike really does pick up speed. i know the bike can go much faster then how i ride it but was just expecting more low down tourque, it may even be faster then i realise as the cars appear as dots when i've overtook.... But this is just from a noobies point of view. Very Happy

Overall tho i don't think 600+ are bad 1st bikes.

same as what misc has written.

i always thought from reading posts on here that i was going to feel that my arms were being ripped off if i pinned the throttle back.

the bike will only go fast if you wind the throttle back quickly on an inline 4 sports 600 as they dont make much low down power in my opinion.

if anyone is asking if a sports600 will be too much for them as a first big bike the answer from me is no.

I think my other posts came across as me being a riding god which is definately not the case.

I just got used to the power quickly and was expecting some almighty surge if i pinned back the throttle.

If you're complaining about the low down torque of 600s then why don't you just change down a gear or two?

Keep the bike in the powerband and they're fine.
