As I start to pull away the first thing that hits me is how responsive the bike is.

awiff of throttle sends the little vfrs heart pumping. I give it what it wants and it shows me just what kinda ride i'm in store for. I hold tight and try to look as if im not fazed... but i am. it's awsome.

As the revs shoot up to 11k I decide to brake... ''I spot a sign for brighton'' cant miss that, the brakes are nice bit need some new pads within the next 2 weeks.

I deicde to stick to the speed limit... it doesnt last long, yet again the little vfr is begging for me to show the rest of the road users just what sorta power it has. i give it what it wants and rapidly twist the throttle right back a sudden jolt of power sends me flying down the dual carrageway.

I look down at the speedo 110mph, ''fucking hell'' I best start braking for that.... SPEED CAMERA!!!!!!! I make it just by the skin of my teeth.

i've been riding for nearly 20 mins, and its hott, far too hott, my ass is on fire. ''what the fuck'' I come to the conclusion that the engine must be right under the seat.

no time for thinking tho, not anymore, this bike needs 100 percent consintraion. the thought of a hott ass only last 4-3 mins then im back in the zone, VFR zone.

almost home... I take the last exit for brighton and head along my fav bit of road... its unreal I tell myself, could even be a dream... i'm over the moon with this bike and have never felt anything like it before.

I decide to stop off at a mate and surprise him.

SURPRISE!!!!!
Thumbs Up
(pics to come tomrrow, as i need to go p.c world and get a new cable to hook up the cam to the laptop)

If you can feel the heat on your arse after 20 minutes, you may want to check out coolant levels and suchlike. Thumbs Up

You took your sweet time, but well done for sorting out your test and bike etc.

Lmao Mr. Green

We have had the turboing a 400 thread already so I await the Ohlins shocks/forks for a VFR thread, the supercharger/nitros thread, the painting it pink thread and the how long do you reckon it can go without a service thread.

Glad you managed to get shot of the RS, though you might have had a bit of trouble unloading it on someone.

Lol @ lurker.

ALL straight line acceleration gets dull after a week or two.

Christ, im sure busa's feel slow if you open em up often enough.

The rush is in the fiddly stuff.

I must admit, ive been waiting for the 'just had a go on a proper bike, im starting to regret remortaging to buy the rs matching pink ohlins' thread for some time.

As said, amazed you got shot of the rs. Vague idea of how much that venture lost you?

Did a drag + top speed run on a busa - got a 10.8 with a 2 mile top speed of 183 or something.
Lock up clutch meant the first few meters weren't a great start as I'd never used one before and it wasn't my bike, otherwise was as fast accelerating as other busas. Top speed would have been higher, but I was trying to find the next gear when I got to the redline pretty much; to find that I was already at the top of sixth.

And yes, it didn't really feel that fast or anything and that was my first time riding one Smile.

nice one.

it's a lot more fun isnt it not having to ride in the redline all the time flogging the rs to death.

Christ sake its only a 600, it has feck all power low down and thats where i need it most, even when higher in the rev range it doesn't feel quick since its so smooth.

I want a bike where i am fighting to keep the front wheel down.

Who cares its going next year anyho.

He wants a bike where he's fighting to keep the front wheel down, not fighting to work out whether or not he's about to hit the rev limiter Smile.

98 R1 is, of course, the answer (in some seriousness, in this case, as well Smile, or at least if can't aford a GSXR1000 k1, anyway)

Hes got a k5 gsxr600 i think so should be that hard, though insurance could be a problem.

If you want a real thrill why not down gear the gixxer a fair but so it only hits 140mph but accellerating much faster Thumbs Up

Or down gear a R1, roadrunner who i met did that and it constantly wanted to lift the front wheel on 98-00 R1 Laughing was cool to watch and had a harris stubby that sounded the boll*cks Very Happy
