hi,as you can see one of the things has broken of the outer clutch basket but it seems to have been specially welded and i was just woundering how much you would expect this to cost to be done again

From what I can see on those pictures (which are fairly small) it looks like it has been bodged back together using lumiweld (low temperature, aluminium solder). That was frankly, never going to work in that application.

Your clutch basket is fucked. Buy a new one.

If it fails whilst it is running, it will be messy. Get a clutch basket off ebay and change it, not a hard job. If you can't lock the clutch basket to undo the nut take the lump down to a bike shop. I got two rotors removed for a tenner.

Surely even if you had it welded back on the balance would be all over the place , which is prolly why it snapped after welding anyway.

Best get a real one else that bit of metal is gonna fly off again and you may not be so lucky.

If it was TIG welded by someone who knows what they are doing, it would probably fix.

Issues being (as mentioned by Rit) balancing the thing, finding someone who is good at TIG welding and the fact that someone appears to have attempted a repair already using a metal solder which will all need to be cleaned off before you can weld it.

All in all, replacing the part would be better and probably cheaper unless you know a good welder (welding alloy well is a tricky skill).

This your NSR?

Give david silvers a phone. You might get a surprise, some stuff is pretty cheap.
