Tryed the breakers?
It is quite daft the ammounts they charge, it is more or less a cg125 with better frame suspension and brakes..
If its a CHEAP bike then fit an aftermarket headlight assembly..
Try https://ratbike.org/ for ideas on runing a bike without being assraped every time you want to replace anything.. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

You're pleading poverty over 300 fucking quid?? If you can't afford to maintain a bike you can't afford to own one. Sell it now & get a bus pass. ____________________ They're not one night stands, they're auditions. |

Not everyone has the funds to afford everything they want.
Is a reason why I don't read bike mags |

i bought my speedfight cheap. Ive needed various parts which wouldve cost a fortune if I had choose to pay retail..
Speedo cable cost me £5 (ebay). Normally around the £10 mark
I got a complete front end minus wheel and caliper for £40 (ebay). Bargin really since Ive used the hub/disc/shock from that so far. Discs are something like £40 new, front shock is around £40, the hub Ive no idea but I but you couldnt get one new for less than £40 either.
Front brake lever and master cylinder £15 (breakers) - I got a quote from one garage £75!!
Grabrail £5 (ebay)
Im now doing up my DT. You think yours was an expensive mistake....
It needs..
New swing arm (£40 breakers, New £100+?)
Side panel (£7 ebay, New £30 at least)
New handlebars (renthals £30)
New levers (£10 ebay. Gotta be £20 New)
New exhaust system (£130 for an after market but stock ones on ebay should easily find a minter for £40-50 but id rather an aftermarket
New grips (renthals £7)
New full set of indicators (£20)
New tank (Ok the old one is slightly dented but new they are like £100)
Sprocket and chain (ebay £45)
New rear shock possibly (not sure if the one thats on there is sagging or just normal. If its knackered thats another £60 at least!)
Seems to ride alrite. Praying the engine is ok though. Ive only ridden it around the block a few times.. ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)

They seem abit chuncky looking . The cougar is a pretty poor bike all round(sorry to say it) most parts new seem to be extortionate. And if the handel bar rubbers aint gone allready chances are they will soon. Again the rubbers are a rip off and last time i seen my lecturer fit a set they still didnt do any good . Shock a set of sr 125 or cg ones should be fine the guys probably just wanting you to spend money in his garage. ____________________ in the famous word of jimmy pop "would you F*ck me for blow"

ish
Thats one hell of a lot closer than I have got... but they are to fit a 750-1100cc bike arn't they? If that is the case they might be a bit too stiff -I have a heavy 125cc Gilera Coguar, so I'm looking for shocks for up to a 200-250cc bike. But we are getting closer
Cheers |
