 |
|
Looking at a naked 6, I really like the aggressive type bikes and have always been a sports bike rider. I would like a bike that is quick, ok for trackdays and looks good (Im a tart!).
Right, the other thing is the bike needs to be newer than an 02 plate, and I have around £3k to spend on the bike.
Sports is not an option as the insurance is too high, and the Z750 has only yeilded ridiculous quotes due to a crash in August last year.
So someone point me in the right direction.
What do you have? Is it any good? ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |

Hornet sounds ideal.
Jay12329 regularly does trackdays on his, and he isn't slow.
Should be reasonably priced too! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Ground clearance is the only problem with the HOrnet. I did a track day at Three Sisters on my 250.
Ground the pegs and rear brake/Gear selector thingy.
I could have kept going too. I was riding mini moto style as the peg just flipped up straight away!!
Bloody good fun though!! |

Hey Sam, the Hornet is probably your best bet, but don't forget the bandit, can be had cheaply and are trackday-able. Now in derestricted state, kept up and overtook modern 600's easy enough, afterall it is down to the rider.
Only places I lost out to were 750's and 1000's on the low down torque factor.

Bloody good pic that Jon
I'd go for a bandit because it's cheap and able. Slower than a hornet, but a lot cheaper. Again, not slow. Still well on an intermediate trackday pace.

Right, to be truthful I do not like the Suzuki Bandits and wouldnt exactly like one unless pushed.
I like the FZ6 (03 on) and the Z750 is a personal favourite. The Hornet seems like a good idea for me to look at, so really depends on insurance on these bikes.
I also need to buy the bike from a dealers so it is more down to what bikes they have at the time. Because the 1 bike my family have bought privately out of many many bikes has been a shitter really. I would much prefer the dealer warranty for the extra price. ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |
