Right after lots and lots of threads about what bike im going to get etc etc,

Ive gone from 400 cc sports bikes, CBF500,ER5,GPZ, Bandit etc.

I had a little test ride of a SV650 today, and although its a bit wrist heavy, the handling and just the general noise of a V Twing is addictive, so i have decided to get a New SV650.

Now my only dillema now is, do i buy it now on Suzuki's 0% finance deal (its with Blackhorse so its not HP, its a secured loan) or wait till later this year and get myself a Pre registered one for say 3900 and pay for it cash with a my local bank loan, or again organise a loan with Blackhorse, as im one of their valued customers apperantly.

Im hoping to start my new job in the next couple of months so new bike is coming. And also what colour you reckon ?

The loan is secured against your house. If your a homeowner. Loan companies see you as less of a risk if you own property.

I think black would look good, and a nice Carbon Remus can to get rid of that Hideous Standard one, and either get Suzuki full fairings, or just the belly pan Thinking

Get a total naked one Cool The black horse finance is full of completion and admin fees etc. It would be nice to know if you could legaly claim them back like bank fees. Anything classed as an admin fee can't have a profit margin, so if they make money on admin fees, get a solicitor on it!

The current colours are crap, the blue is more of a turquoise colour, and doesn't suit the black frame. The red just makes it look like a toy, and the silver is boring.

One of last year's models would look 10x nicer in blue!

Yeah 2005's blue was gorgeous! I would like a black one Smile

Well ive just had a word with my Mum, she says sell my CBR 125 for around £1200 give her the money i get from that, as its what i owe her, continue to pay the remainder off say £100 a month.

Get a Loan from the Bank for 5k, use this to buy a new/pre reg bike or a year old one from a dealer, id prefer new just for the peace of mind, as im not mechanically minded and dont want to buy a dog of a used bike.

So is the sensible option then?

Get a brand spanking new one on 0% finance. Like extreme3d (get seat cowl and bellypan with it - mint)

I'm saying this out of annoyance, I hate when people say "I'm not mechanically minded" since most of it is avail;able FREE in the workshop section and you have BCF'ers local to you willing to give a hand I'm sure. But hey...go buy new...whatever makes you happy jsut DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

And geordiebloke, you've just thrown a spanner in the works, i love Z750's, but always though at 5K they were out of my price range.Going to have to go have a serious look around now Laughing Maybe have a test ride.

And itchy, new job is for Air Miles flight centre in Birchwood warrington, 18k a year plus commission and rises with experience the basic wage Very Happy So going to come back off holiday, get my money sorted, get cbr in the classifieds and get a loan sorted for new bike, cant wait Very Happy

Good bikes, but why spend 4k+ on a new one when you can spend £1500 on a 5 year old low miler that does all the same things just as well. Possibly better since someone else has probably already put some money into the suspension and fitted a noisy can.
And the pointy frames just look cheap.

Yeah but last time i bought a used bike it needed over £400 worth of new bits for it. Im not really that fussed about the depreciation, just be like with my cbr 125, safe in the knowlage, its only been owned by me, it works, it has no niggles.

Some people may not agree with it but fair enough, if i can find a 1 year old low milage 1 ownered SV then fair enough, but if i can also get a brand spanking one and blag them down to 4k or even 3999 with a bit of haggling then ill do that.

lucky goit , with 3 years university a 1st x 2 class degree, a full ACCA qualification , AAT AND ATT , AND some ICAEW exams passed , I can only make 14.5K. Goes to show :

1 bosses are tight bastids (pay review in 9 months better be more than 5K).

2 university qualifications are worthless.
