I doubt it. I weigh 8 stone and you have to watch your balance with your bike, not to mention pushing it about is hard work full stop due to relatively little muscle.

Also on that diet you probably won't be much healthier than a larger person who eat's the same. Just have less mass to move around.

This neglect's the fact that some people are quite happy to be slightly larger than average, as you are to be smaller.

I would excersize and eat right but I'm too lazy.

I have the body of an adonis anyway.

I go to the gym about three times a week, run about 4miles in half an hour every time, do weight training as well and I havent actually lost any weight. Im still 13.5st when I started all this 8months ago. Even though havent been for a week due to the fact ive been revising all the time.

The only difference is im not that weedy anymore which kinda helps a lot of things. I have also lost 3" on my waist as well. I used to be a 36-37 and now im a 33-34" waist Razz

To be honest if your fit enough just go on the x-trainer for as long as you can on "fat burn" and that will get your weight down. For me it is about 15minutes with my heart rate at 165bpm.

All you young people may not be fat but you may as well start getting fit now when it is easier, plus you wont have a bear belly appearing in your late twentys.

Good luck whoever is on the diet. Thumbs Up

A slightly old thread, but thought I'd add to it...
Been putting on weight a bit over the last few months, not a massive amount, but not too happy with it.
With London to Brighton coming up I ate particularly badly as it was London to Brighton the next week. Might have even lost a bit of weight that day if it wasn't for the big chinese after it.

I weighed 13st10lb that Sunday night.
Last week I limited myself to..
Two slices of toast with marmite at 10:30am.
Small slice of toast with marmite at lunch time.
Ready meal in the evening.
Later evening snack of a single small slice of toast with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese.

Tried to keep it to low calorie drinks.

Reckon around 1000 calories a day, give or take.

Weighed myself saturday morning at 13st dead on.

^^^ Thumbs Up ^^^

An easy but time consuming way to loose weight (and this will work) is to go walking every day for two hours! A guy in the Para's who was into his late 30's swears by it because he can't run anymore due to injuries.

To be honest, I reckon your could get away with 1 hour initially for a month and see how it goes, but in terms of easy exercise that would be a good route to take. To be honest, if your one of these people who never get outside you'd probably find it would boost your mental focus and alertness as well since you get to be outside, in the sunshine as well.

Thing is, as long as your doing that you could get away with not eating as well as you would like because you would be burning a good amount of calories and as your fitness improved your metabolism would speed up as your muscles required more calories to keep themselves maintained.

BTW using this method, patience is a virtue. I personally wouldn't expect to see noticeable results for at least a month if not longer, but the trade of is that its easy to do, doesn't require serious effort (but don't kid yourself and fecking stroll) and doesn't cost a penny.

Well ive lost a stone since getting back from uni.

Eatting better and less, drinking less, smoking pot less (ie less munching) and doing lots of random class A's (since they are all uppers you excercise FAR more just generally, you are up later, and they usually kill your appetite).

Hoping to lose another stone in athens just from actually getting up early enough to have breakfast dinner and tea, and from doing lots of manual labour.

I take it as a good sign my bellys gone back to its jelly like state. It was all solid before Neutral

Ive got some very weird stretch marks though, ive got a few on the belly that could be from the lard (but they are still in a weird place).

But ive got two on my right armpit, and ive not put on weight there nor much muscle...

And they were there before i lost the weight... Neutral

a pound of muscle weighs twice as much as a pound of fat. If you've been exercising then the shift in body mass can account for weight gain whilst having significant fat loss.

A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat...

Methinks you mean it takes up less space Smile

I think a lot of people that need to loose weight expect to loose too much too quickly. Those few extra pounds that you're carrying didn't appear overnight, they may well have been building up over a matter of years.
I believe that rather than going on some "quick fix diet" it would be more beneficial to make some gentle lifestyle changes coupled with a few adaptions to your diet. Small changes can actually have a big result and better still, a lasting result.
I lost a stone in weight over a period of about a year by just giving up sugary drinks. Carried on eating as normal but stopped having sugar in my tea.
Also, if I've got a holiday booked and I'm paranoid about wearing my bikini I just up my exercise. I favour an exercise bike because it doesn't mess my day up and for me it's the easiest option. Roll out of bed, 30 mins on exercise bike which is about 300 calories, sweat a lot, get into shower, stink less and I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to face the day. Eat as normal! Works for me, weight just drops off.

If I were to make some "gentle lifestyle changes" then I'd be looking at a weight loss plan that would take years to lose the 6 stone I need(ed) to. I'd still be on full medication for that period, too.

As far as lasting results are concerned, that's 100% down to whether you go back to old eating habits or not - not the method you used to lose the weight. I'm not saying I don't need to make those lifestyle changes, but I'll be buggered if I'm going for a half pound a week weight loss target when I can do over 5.

The only downside to this "quick fix diet" is that it's boring. The upside is that I'm 2/3rds of the way through it. I'm glad you have a method that works for you.

Actually yes TheShaggyDA I agree with everything you just said.

My former post was pretty biased because I was only considering smaller amounts of weight loss, say a stone or so. My line of thinking was to get it under control before there was a real health risk. Sorry Embarassed

So far, the only place there seems to be "more skin than usual" is the inside of my thighs. There's nothing hanging in bags or anything like that, just that if I tense my leg muscles there's some "freeplay" in the skin above it.

I do realise that it will take time for the skin to play catch up; I won't be looking at surgery as I have no self esteem problems. It's not as though I'm trying to look good in a bikini Smile

No, because I used to be exactly like that when I was a young pup...you wait till age creeps up and nips you in the bum.. see who's laughing then!!!

For those of you who want to lose weight, dont want to exercise or change your diet or do some extra work, there is always the hoover clinic, get your fat sucked away for a mere £6k. One overnight stay in hospital, a couple of weeks bruising and you're done!
