Hiya guys,
I sold the following car stereo on ebay (robbed from the banger, no less)
https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9738122649&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&rd=1
Anyhow a guy bought it for £22 which I thought was insane given it cost me a tenner of a mate and now he's complaining that he has been told he needs a new plug to fit it into his car (in fact he wants £30 back, refund plus P&P)
Now my issue is the fact I stated that it came with no plug, however I did leave the orginal plug, which was cut, in the rear of the stereo, mainly because anyone with a bit of electrical clout could simply wire it in.
So should I issue him with a full refund?

No. You havent lied on your description of the item when selling and therefore its his problem that he's bid for something he didnt/couldnt use.
Keep the money.

IMO appear to have covered yourself with the listing text. So no, IMO it doesn't warrant a refund, the buyer should learn to read!
It's not like you're ripping him off by just supplying a picture of a car player. As you say anyone with a bit of common sense should realise it needs wiring in with the correct adapter.

I'd just send a polite email to him telling him that the description clearly stated that a new plug would be required, and that you cannot offer a refund just because he didn't read it.
Or, tell him to do one!

Siggi's the first to moan about bad practice on EBay auctions and even he agrees - you're onto a winner. Politely tell him that the item is as described and that you won't be refunding his money. You will probably get negative feedback, so remember to leave a comment after it explaining why he's an arsehole and give him negative feedback too.
I just won an auction where I bid £50 instead of 50p. My mistake, so I'll stick by it (it only went up to £4.50 anyway). ____________________ Current bike: Kawasaki Z750S |

Now he's saying it needs a new fuse as well as a plug even though the fuse was perfectly fine when I sold, which implies to me they have tried to wire it in and done it wrong
I told him to take the issue up with ebay because his problem seem to stem from his inability to correctly read the advert |

I had a sim issue with some mem cards I sold! Auction said That the 128mb didnt work in my cam but was working fine in my Pc/Card reader!
Couldnt test the others as no camera but all worked in pc, so unable to refund just going by what prev buyer had told me.
They sold for £15 and then got a shitty email saying Ive sold faulty goods and the prev buyer said that he told me they didnt work!
I said bugger off as I stated that they may not work in a camera.
and no refunds bad feedback taken!
He then filed a item not as discribed with paypal.
PP sided with me and tol the buyer they were discribed correctly and he recieved what he paid for so no refund will be given!
He then said hell take futher legal action if I refused to refund him!
So I ignored his emails! ____________________ Carbon closet tart! https://www.bikepics.com/members/r6stuk/02r6/
