If you lot see the amount of karma i got, youd see alot of people feel the same, they just dont want to get burnt in this thread.
There are alot of racists in england, but few go to BNP meetings etc.
Anyway, like i say miracle fishs posts was very good
I would say though i havent 'forced' my opinion on you, i would just like vegetarians to enter into a proper debate for once, with someone who can be arsed to shout bullshit at them.
About the only excuse i'll accept is dont like the taste (but only if they arent arseholes about it touching them/there food/checking its not in icecream etc) or the fluffy animal rights ones (again if only not upset with it touching them, there food, checking for tiny quantities of meat based product, then wearing lots of leather)
Also agriculture is REALLY not better for the environment then pasture.
Not even for the cuddly animals you lot care so much about like foxes and rabbits
Rabbits are only killed in pastures when theres too great a risk the flock/herd might break there legs in rabbit holes. Foxes are left to it unless raising chickens.
Agriculture... everything dies. Complete blank canvas.
Like i say, im not forcing my view on anyone (although you are quite obviously noticing how staunchly i feel about this), i would just like some of these 'reasons' to radically change both your lifestyle, diet and perceptions of what normal people /should/ eat to be looked at abit further then the gillian mckeith poo book. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

The worst thing about this thread for me, isn't the blatant sexism displayed by bonny_Ricardo, it’s his entirely mistaken belief that he is some kind of intellectual and not just the bigoted mistaken fool that he so clearly is.
“Couldnt find a good photo, but all im gonna say is size 6/8 waist, tall, and about 36DD's And not a bad face (when shes not pulling some stupid pose)”
“And also, most veggie girls are very attractive, as skinny runts”
“My two passions are bikes and biology. I happen to know a fair bit about both”
Clearly you don’t.
bonny FYI – Intellectuals can spell anaemic....
However, I hope she gets to read this thread, in fact, I hope any woman that you try to hook up with get to read this thread.
---------------------------------------------------
In answer to your much lauded - "Why vegetarians should be force fed with lard"
I present to you:
"Why bonny_ricardo is a conceited fool who overrates his miniscule intelligence"
I became a vegetarian because it is a better nutritional diet.
"The tiniest amount of enquiry into the subject quickly reveals that meat is exceptionally nutritious" – conjecture, unsubstantiated.
“Whereas a meat eater is in little danger of missing out on these nutrients, a vegetarian has to be very careful to eat the right foods in order to get enough of them"
I’d suggest that whether someone eats meat or not, it’s still up to the individual to make sure that they have a balanced diet. Most meat eaters in the industrialised nations show very obvious signs of not having a balanced diet.
Vegetarians are healthier because the average vegetarian is lighter than the average meat eater in Britain.
Obesity is a serious health problem.
People who have the correct BMI are healthier than those who are obese.
This argument has nothing to do with vegetarianism and can’t be sustained in either direction.
I became a vegetarian because I was told about what happens to meat in the gut. It stays there for ages and rots, getting infected with bacteria.
More misdirection.
Red meat is unhealthy and the human stomach is not able to digest it properly during it’s progress through the body.
Anyone who doubts this google for ‘red meat’ and ‘cancer’.
I became a vegetarian because I care about what I put into my body. I don’t want to put chemicals in there, nor anything dead. Plants are natural, so they can’t be harmful.
“Plants are natural, so they can’t be harmful”
Obviously a ridiculous claim and one that only the most stupid of vegetarians would make.
Having said that the list of anti-oxidants, colourings and preservatives added to red meat are nothing compared to the hormones, antibiotics and toxins released into the bloodstream at the time of death.
I became a vegetarian, because I want to live in a more natural way.
I can see why that would be appealing.
After all pumping an animal that you can’t digest full of drugs, killing it, adding colourings and preservatives (did you know beef is actually grey if you don’t dye it red ?) and then mechanically separating the ‘meat’ from the bone and further processing it before finally…days later….eating it….isn’t very natural is it ?
Regardless, if someone wants to believe this and eat what they choose to, why shouldn’t they ?
After all you chose what you eat, even if animals have to die for you to have that choice.
I became a vegetarian, because stock farming is not economically viable. We could feed the Third World if everyone became a vegetarian.
Too complicated a subject to be summed up in a few words by a biased idiot.
Obviously there is a lot of food wasted worldwide, even so, most cattle is fed high quality grain and it takes many times the cattle’s weight of grain to produce meat.
ie. more than 10 tons of grain during the animal’s life to make 1 ton of meat – please correct me if this figure is incorrect.
Once again, if someone chooses to believe this statement, why shouldn’t they ?
Clearly you are choosing what you want to believe.
I’m not a vegetarian, but in my honest observations I’ve seen far more pushy meat eaters than I have pushy vegetarians.
Look at the attitude of people commenting on this thread !
I became a vegetarian because I don’t want to finance death. I don’t mind wearing a woollen jumper, because they don’t kill the sheep to get the wool.
This isn’t an attack on meat eaters – why pretend it is ?
Personally, I choose not to eat (much) red meat because of the various health issues.
I wear leather because, although the animal has died, there is no advantage to not using the skin. In fact it’s environmentally friendly and a renewable resource (sorry to all the vegetarians out there).
I became a vegetarian because I think that farming animals is cruel. Farmers do not care about the welfare of their animals.
I live in the rural southwest, anyone you ask is going to have a different opinion on this one.
Personally, I’ve seen plenty that suggests farmer’s care about profit, not animals.
Before BSE became common knowledge it was well known amongst farmers.
The cure….as soon as the car started losing control of it’s limbs, kill it and sell it for beef.
Feel free to draw your own conclusions.
I became a vegetarian because crop farming is more efficient than stock farming. 100 units of food energy fed to an animal become only 10 units of meat, so meat production is inefficient.
“That a well-fed middle-class town-dwelling person should be so concerned about the efficiency of farming is questionable. There are many inefficient things in the world. Dancing is a waste of energy. Most males of most species never breed, so malehood in general is inefficient”
FFS…..
Hardly an intelligent argument, is it ?
I don't want to eat anything that I wouldn't be prepared to kill myself.
Is there any opinion a vegetarian can hold that isn’t going to be mindlessly attacked ?
I became a vegetarian because we don’t need meat.
Let’s be honest here, we don’t need red meat.
Whether we need meat at all is a moot point.
If you are going to argue that human’s evolved to the point where they were able to hunt and provide meat (and therefore alter their own diet) then maybe civilisation has enabled us to evolve (nearly) to the point where we can understand our own dietary needs and make educated choices ?
I became a vegetarian because that’s the way society is going. Thousands of people every minute are becoming vegetarians.
Oh really, has anyone ever heard a vegetarian say this ?
If anything it’s meat eaters who are going with the ‘masses’.
I became a vegetarian, because I care about biodiversity.
How many people actually read this far into this absolutely pathetic diatribe ?
Again, has anyone ever heard a vegetarian say this ?
I became a vegetarian because it is the future.
Again, has anyone ever heard a vegetarian say this ?
And if so, has anyone ever heard a vegetarian trying to use this as an argument to dissuade a meat eater ?
I became a veggie simply because I don’t like meat.
Again, has anyone ever heard a vegetarian say this ?
And if so, why shouldn’t be allowed this choice ?
And if so, has anyone ever heard a vegetarian trying to use this as an argument to dissuade a meat eater ?
AT LAST - THE REAL REASON PEOPLE BECOME VEGETARIAN
Enough is enough ok ?
Jeez, what a crock of shit.
bonny, if you are prepared to read that complete load of biased bullshit and accept it as fact, then, clearly, that is because it suits you to do so (and presumably you aren't intelligent enough to see how flawed it is).
Hotdog.
ps. do I sound like I'm a vegetarian ??

I recommend:
1. Chill out.
2, Eat whatever you like.
3. Accept that if you are going to be an arrogant, willful ignoramus then nobody is going to want to maintain a debate with you about anything at all. A debate is an interesting exchange of views, and you're just not putting the effort in from your side. All you are offering is a great deal of negativity based on a stereotype.
The first step to understanding why people would choose not to [eat meat]/[ride a bike]/[shag you]/[do whatever] is to realise that not everybody has the same motivation and priorities as you do. Once you do that, you can move forward. The problem here is that you don't want to understand.
finpos. |
I'd like to know why you feel so threatened by someone actually wanting to understand such a core part of your being.
Also, this has nothing to do with getting laid, so again its interesting that your main source of insults are to that end.
She was merely what triggered this topic, and although shes fit, shes both religious and a vegetarian. Both of which are things i will never understand, call me a bigot if you will, so she doesnt particularly interest me.
Also, this is a DEBATE. A debate isnt you giving me some flippant remark and me simply agreeing and going away.
A debate is an exchange of ideas, in which one party, through LOGICAL ARGUMENTS tries to put across their viewpoint.
Sometimes these get abit heated, such as this case, it does not however turn from a debate.
For instance you can have a political debate, i for the life of me cant see why someone would vote anything but tory right now (on the balance of parties anyway, they're ALL bastards), and it is nice to sit down and discuss that.
No one likes to debate the opposite viewpoint, so its quite obvious we will both feel strongly about OUR viewpoint.
The negativity, might i add, stems from people like you who will just shout bigot until the person they are debating with buggers off, and then consider it a debate they have won.
I will not do that.
Also my misplaced anger is more from the numerous times someone has decided for me that i am wrong, completely ignored all evidence to the contrary and still just recited the same BS some cunt called wavy gravy who lives in a teepee and eats lentils told them.
Meat rots in the gut, meat takes longer to digest, meat is toxic etc etc.
No amount of telling them how the GI tract works will ever shut them up, annoyingly.
About the only good logical plus side of vegetarianism i can see is they tend to be skinny, or at least alot lower average weight.
This may be a plus side, however i think it goes to show that no where near as much nutrition is normally obtained by your AVERAGE vegetarian. If someone admits they are just doing it to lose weight i dont mind, if someone will not freak out at the sight/smell/touch of meat i dont mind.
Its when their problems become my problems, thats when it annoys me.
'Will you shut that door while you're cooking, all i can smell is dead pig'
'oh id love a sweat... oooh hang on have they got gelatin in'
Etc.
I have no problems with how people live there lives, apart from when it impacts on me.
If i, for absolutely no logical or medical reason, decided i did not want a television or microwave on in any house i ever step foot in, and got very shirty about that, id expect to lose alot of friends.
Cause and effect.
As miracle fish has said, he makes a special effort not to put people out for the sake of it, and that raises my faith in humanity slightly.
However i would still be suprised if whenever he goes around to someones house for dinner, even without him asking and expecting to get just a plate of mash potato, the hosts will go to the trouble of doing him a different meal anyway.
Its just what ends up happening.
Now for instance, my mum is wheat intolerant. It completely fucks up her bowels if she eats more then trace amounts a day, we go to a lot of trouble to try and go out to places that will serve things she can eat.
But even though eating wheat will make her ill, and she knows this, she still is not phobic of it. She copes with for instance a slice of bread nudging her food when they originally bring it out, and just gives it to one of us.
And that is a completely medical reason, and yet she doesnt kick up a fuss.
And yet, somehow because some 13 year old girl decided it was cool to be a vegetarian (and im pretty sure EVERYONE has a sister that has gone veggie for a month or two, most snap out of it eventually), you have to make sure you dont even eat meat in the same room as them.
Now i can go into long staggering depth about why my mum has her dietary needs, yet vegetarianism seems to be without logical thought and inspires almost religious zeal in those who practice what is basically a type of fasting.
So yes, im sorry if i get a tad heated in debates, but i find it hard to fathom why, in light of all the medical evidence people choose to deny themselves one of the main food groups, and something we innately crave, for a bizarre reason that most will not extrapolate on.
As ive said its like people that instantly tell you you WILL die on that death trap of a bike, and that all bikers and menaces to society, while they confidently get in there 4x4, packed full of kids with out seatbelts and bomb down the inside lane of a motorway at 100. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Hmm. See and after id kept out of the whole siggi/hotdog war.
So tell me, what intellectually stimulating job do you do again mate?
Do you by any chance sit down the pub most weekdays grabbing anyone who cares to listen and explain how you would 'save the world'.
The fact you were so arrogant as to post up that pile of bilge with so much startling confidence about how to overtake pretty much says it all.
I also at no point stated it was healthy to eat a cow a day.
Also you dont understand the fact that the best way to get a point across (especially if it is a dull one) is to use humour. A lecturer of mine onec explained genetic drift to us all using the analogy of absolutely shitfaced people stumbling down a hall going towards the bog.
Crass perhaps, but 5/6 months on i can remember it intricately.
Im sure learning to ride is a hoot with you, after every single instruction 'and for reference as to that command please consult page 120 of 'a twist of the wrist'
Also i would imagine he simply asked a bunch of vegetarians what there reason for becoming one was, and simply logically destroyed each argument. Whether or not you think he did it scientifically or included enough references or a bibliography is subjective, but objectively he LOGICALLY destroyed each argument.
As ive said the new puritanism argument is perhaps far fetched, but it would explain the almost religious fervour some vegeterians have.
And admittedly you may be right, there is no such thing as a poor farmer, and there are reasons for that. However you will still find these animals very well looked after, there are stringent standards. Ask stinkwheel who is a large animal vet, there are guidelines.
Even if they do think of them as 'cash cows' (bum bum tish ), theyd rather play nice rather then lose their farming licence or equivalent (no you're right, i havent wasted my time researching this to any great depth).
Also Hotdog, you may be deluded enough to think all women are equal, that is great, whether or not most men admit it, there are women good only for being friends, there are women good only for fucks, and there are women you would actually go out with/marry.
The latter are in minority.
Just because you want to float around here pretending you are holier then thou, and picking up on me mixing up the ae in anaemic (thank you for that by the way, i was confused, but fuck it i reserve dictionarys for definitions, not spellings) which i think everyone will admit is a bugger of a spelling to remember, and generally trying to prove some kind of superiority, doesnt actually mean you ever will.
You see, you try far too hard. Im only doing this as it gives me something to do, keeps the brain ticking over inbetween copious quantites of drugs. I have sweet FA to do, i've been waiting on a callback for an interview and have been arranging volunteer work in crete. You on the other hand are a fully grown man, wife, kids, mortgage, job.
Yet you can still be arsed sitting on here squabbling and trying to prove you are king of the castle.
For instance the whole siggi thing.
Have you not got the intelligence to realise hes trolling you.
Also, if i was Andy C i would find the notion that i could be puppeted along by someone else insulting.
To me it sounds like on a rideout (and everyone knows its ride your own ride, or you will bin it) a car was undertaken twice and she decided to stop hogging the overtaking lane.
In theory if this is anyones fault it is Andy's.
Yet you wont let it drop.
Now Hotdog, excited as i am to have got another person into some kind of flame war, i dont care about karma, i dont care if you like me, and i dont care if i insult someone.
You are very unlikely to hurt me. But please do carry on, it will amuse me.
But if i were you, id get back down the pub and carry on being that drunk philosopher in the corner everyone avoids.
Richard

BR, since we have brushed upon logical arguement in this thread, you should not take this as ad hominem:
1. You're simply not funny. Don't try to use humour to get your point across.
2. You're nowhere near as smart as you think you are.
3. You are, however, almost totally incoherent.
If I were you, I'd lay off the gear a while.

And you've developed that notion of me in 200 posts over a year?
God you must know me better then me.
Edit: Oh and considering im so completely unfunny, its interesting quite how many funny ratings ive received even in just the last 2 days.
Maybe the wit is above you
Or maybe your last colonic irrigation forced some shite into your brain (and if you explain to me how thats not possible i may kill you), as it would certainly explain some things. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

There are some essays in here arn't there!
Why whine about what you may think is right or wrong for someone else to eat, as, lets be honest, its no business of anyone else other than the person eating it (unless it is made an issue for others, which is wrong).
There are far more pressing issues relating to food and its production than what one person (or a small minority) choose to eat.
Perhaps you should put more energy into talking about the problems with 'food miles', the use of 'chemicals' (e.g pesticides, fungisides and fertilisers on plants), the explotation of immigrant workers, the effects of the major super markets on the supply chain, the problems caused by subsidised farming and its effects on the '3rd world' and all the other problems which affect EVERYONE.
(Although I'm sure some of those are 'hyped' by the anti-worldtrade brigade).
It just seems like such a non-debate. Its like arguing over what your favourite colour is! |

Ok, maybe i have jumped the gun a tad.
I do apologise.
But i guess its almost like the publics perception of bikes, they think we are ALL nutters.
Thats because they look through us normally, unless we are doing something hooliganish.
Perhaps i just have never come across people who have sane rationale on the subject because i usually dont eat with people, and so its only the uptight bunched knicker types i do meet and link to the vegetarian stereotype.
Whereas i suppose like all demographics there are arseholes and then theres the norm.
I wont pretend to understand or agree with the logic (or science for that matter), but the fact a fair few people on here took the time to rationally explain their reactions and feelings on it has changed my broad opinion on the matter.
I think its time for thread death
Consider my 'bigoted mistaken fool' attitude lessened slightly.
As i say, i cant say i agree with it, but a few of you -miracle fish especially- have changed my opinion.
Can i just say i loathe the types who do it as a fashion thing, get uppety about the fact im a murderer, and clearly havent a clue, and leave it at that.

No worries Ricardo, glad i've upped 'the cause' slightly in your estimation.
I know vegans, and I think they're all nuts.
So it's all relative.
And don't get me started on piscitarians (half-arsed veggies who eat fish) - or people who only eat processed meat, you're not vegetarians you're stupid, whiny fools, who are quite rightly mocked by vegetarians and omnivores alike!
Now I'd quite happily campaign to have them rounded up into stupid camps.
