I am crap with budgets, i overspend all the time.

Fortuntaly its never a problem but i can see myself on the phone to my mum and dad every week asking for more money(they have already set me up with a food voucher card so i will never starve) Laughing

No i do a thing called W-O-R-K

I dont waste my money, i would perfer to buy a £1000 watch then blow it all on booze over the year or whatever, thats why i have alot of gadjets and chains etc worth alot of money.

I know someone that has been working for almost 3 years.

All he has to show is a £2500 R6 and about £2000 in the bank.

I havnt even been working a year and i already have a Brand new bike+fully comp insurance, a decent car, 42 HD TV on my wall and a very good computer and many other bits and still got money in the bank.

He spends his money on booze and weed and doesn't even go to a decent pub, sits there with someone from work with a bunch of old gits.

I Perfer to do out for a nice meal and have about 5 pints, i am gonna start saving more anyho since i am hoping to build some houses on my parents land.

If you have a credit card which you find yourself constantly maxing out on, and getting into trouble paying it back ... do this:

* Fill cereal bowl with water.
* Place offending credit card/s in bowl (with the card numbers FACE DOWN - so you can't even use it for internet purchases).
* Place bowl in freezer.

Once its frozen into a block of ice, it stops you from making those unnecessary little purchases that mount up.

When you think you really need to use it for something ... if you wait until you defrost it, then it gives you a chance to reconsider whether you REALLY REALLY need to purchase [whatever it is].

Makes you think twice before using your cards, and makes it really difficult.

its not the spending that is important its the making more $$$$$ that is important,

economising can only go on for so long , work hard earn more climb the greasy pole , ASAP , you only have till you are 40 to do it and are thrown on the scrap heap.

How much you get a year!??! Shocked

Im pritty good with saving, i find have a goal the key to my success. Like when i was saving for my SV i would put 60-80% of my earnings a week into my saving which, after fuel like me with not much but was worth it!!

And like G says, do weekly, much easier Thumbs Up

Money Saving.....hmmm where I go wrong usually is the discipline part.

I'm on good money (reasonably) but luxuries are the horses...they can cost less but its too easy to get carried away sometimes buying this and that which isnt really required.

Shopping...you can save money buying own brands or buying in bulk but essentially it ALL comes down to discipline.

Thanks to my ex hub being a fuckwit I cant actually get a credit card at present, but I am finding that I am a lot better without one. Its a pain in the arse sometimes but easier to deal in cash everytime.

I dont have any loans etc, everything i have (almost) is paid for no credit type thing.

This coming from someone who had to pay off nearly £25k worth of debt when split from husband (needless to say the majority was not mine).

I am happier in the position I am now with less material things and no credit owing, than having it all and owing fuck loads which was a constant source of stress.

Discipline and forward planning, analysing what you are actually spending it on always helps, but most of all having the ability to STICK TO IT....the hard bit.
