Hi
Ok the word from the garage is not good, turns out i had an engine sizesure, luckerley it didnt stop dead. anyway it cracked the engine casing and i need a new one. So im getting a second hand one from a breaker (double ). Is this a good idea the bloke at the garage said it was. And 2 could i get a derestricted engine and would it work with my bike as i think is fully retricted or at least it was.

hi James
Its an import so its not UK, when you the intake is that to do with the carb. I'm getting a nikon exhaust sytem for the bike so that should speed things up. Whats a good price of a second hand two stroke engine btw.
Thanx

Hi
I've got my bike back now and ive rode it a bit over the weekend. Anyway with the old engine the bike pulled all the way to the red line, now with this new one it only pulls to about 9 an a half thousand revs, so does this mean that the old engine was derestricted in some way, remembering that its an import, and if so what's the difference

A complete piston kit for the later nsr's with the nickasil plated bore costs about £190, but if your bore is repairible (can be done by www.stanstephens.com ) it would probably cost bout £100. This is if you did all the work yourself and didnt check the con rod or crankshaft for staightness.
Good luck
