Tried looking for a few ways to snipe and after using quite a few finally found the best one.
www.auctionsnipe.com
Your first 3 snipes are free and after that its about 1% of the auction price if you win. I have used the 3 free (successfully) and dont mind paying the 1% because you will save loads of money using it.
Basically you put the auction number in and maximum price, then you can choose when it bids. I put 3 seconds before and every time it worked.
You get 3 free so might as well try it, very easy to do (stops you trying to snipe yourself) and get in right at the last minute.
This is not spam by the way just tryin to help a few people out with my findings. |

Bid-o-matic.
Totally free and runs on your own PC.
Easy to use and hasn't let me down yet.

Don't worry, the program runs in English as well, despite the German website.
I usually set it to be about 10 seconds because my connection's sometimes a bit dodgy, but never had a problem. Though it's probably slightly longer than I'd leave it manually, it's a lot less hassle. |

Thats why auction sniper is good G, it doesn't run on your pc. Its web based so there is never any worry about if your bid will make it or not.
Don't need your computer to be on or anything for it to work. |

I use Jbidwatcher, it's damned good. I had a long hard think about "sniping", and came to the conclusion I really don't mind it. I bid in the last 4 seconds or so of the auction, and I bid the maximum I am prepared to pay. If there is someone else bidding higher, or the current max is higher, I don't win. Not a problem, I watch out for the next one and do the same.
The type of ebayer who bids up in £1-£2 increments and stops when they overtake you, then does the same if you go in higher, THAT'S the one that really gets my goat. Decide what you're prepared to pay, then offer it. That's all any "sniper" is doing really. I've seen/heard a few myths about third party auction managers supposedly confusing the ebay servers into granting a lower end price than someone had initially bid, but never been offered a shred of proof as to the veracity of that particular legend. ____________________ I'm immortal.
