Network Printers

We have a number of computers in the house and it seams a bit daft buying 3 set of ink for 3 differnet printers.
So i want to network a printer, but i dont want it to rely on a computer. What do i need and how do i go about setting up a network driven printer?

I got a cheap broardband router that included a USB printer port - was about £20.

Haven't actually tried it. You may be able to get standalong printer ones for even less, haven't looked myself.

Our printer the HP All-in-one 3210 has an ethernet port on it, so you can connect it straight into the network. Tis cool.

I recently put in a Canon all in one scanner/printer/copier jobbie which has a built in network port for my sister. Installation was a piece of piss. Effectively all you have to do is plug the printer into your router and it will go through it's own setup, then load each PC with it's driver.

I myself have gone with a router with a USB printer port. I'll let you know how it goes, as the router and printer are still sitting in their boxes in my study. I might be putting them in tonight
