I have to say a big big thankyou to one of my neighbours, as if it wasn't for him not being able to sleep at 6am this morning I would have no bike left to play with today. Crying or Very sad

After going for a ride yesterday & knowing full well I'd be using her again today I got (admittedly) a little lazy.
I didn't want to have to trek up to the garage first thing in the morning so I left my CBR outside the house last night......Fully Motrax chained to my fathers jeep & steering locked etc, as I have done before with no problems! Only to be greeted this morning by my neighbour explaining to me how he wandered outside to find 3 men with massive cutters having a go at my chain & a large van to haul her off in.
I just sincerely hope that the one that ran into the plank of wood they were going to use to get her in the van broke his bloody shin bone or something.......The bastards!!! Mad

So THANKYOU to helpful neighbours Razz Thumbs Up

Helen Karma

Where abouts in Stoke are you ?

Usually it's the areas just off the M6/A50 that get this happening so the TGB's can make a quick getaway.

Shocked

Bloody hell!

Ceeber could have gone!

I wonder what made them decide to target your bike, do they just drive around with a van full of gear looking for a likely target or had they seen her there before?
Either way, bastards.

Thumbs Up to your neighbour - you're so so lucky.

Yea i recon they go round till they find a target and no way they would know you were going to leave it outside.

horrible to think people can do this.
perhaps you should invest in an alarm of sorts. keeps me a little more at ease.

Glad it ended ok.

You can get cheap alarms on ebay that should do the basic job - think you can get cheap pager ones now that send a signal to a handset if the bike is moved.

Wink

Glad it didn't go!

Chances are they drove past when it was on the front and decided to come back armed with bolt croppers and a van, as mentioned above the M6 isn't too far away and with so many turns that could be taken upon leaving...

You're bloody lucky!

That was lucky
"G" can you put up a link, or do you know where you can get hold of alarms ?
I would like one that i could put on my bike, under its cover, so anyone starts trying to take it off it sets the alarm off.

Blimey Helen, that was a lucky escape!

Makes you think when you hear things like this, thieving scumbags! Thinking they can just help themselves.

Definitely agree on ringing the police, regardless of what you get or them doing anything - that way some one will have to try a little bit harder to bend the figures so it looks like they're actually doing something.

I live near and work in the chav capital of Essex where Vicky Pollard is queen, and I have never had any problems with people tampering with my bike, even though the only security has been a disc lock. The bike has been parked (when broken down, and left overnight) in a busy A roads lay-by, next to a set of traffic lights and on a round about approach island.

Maybe I've just been lucky, or maybe I just ride a shite bike that no one else wanted Laughing

I doesn't matter where you live, if they want it, they will have it
