Ok - just left education, finished my school life, i ahve left 6th form, and am due to pick up my A level results on the 26th. (joys)
but i now am shitting my self, jobs, life, my parents debt which will innevitably come to me because its to much for them to pay off in their life time (unless we win the lottery).
its just so scarey!!!!! Jobs, losing loved ones (not yet but it crossing your mind and its upsetting) i mean i fell to pieces when we lost our dogs and cats, esp themost recent cat, i cant even imagine how much pain there will be when i lose my parents or other relations.
Im 18 - yeh yeh my whole life ahead of me, but what sort of life.... |

think about what type of job you want to do, can you hack office work/ working with people or would prefer to work more on your own? your choice i'm affriad. dont be supprised if you make a few mistakes and wrong choices thats just life
trust me i've made loads biggest so far is losing a house but shit happens
as for the debt thing, as far as i'm aware a debt dies with person (although the creditor does have a claim on the estate of the dead person)

You’ve just finished one of the best parts of your life, and trust me, if you want it to, this next part is going to be much more fun.
Some people never finished their A levels, some don’t finish school, so combined with your GCSE’s and you can already get something pretty decent, following that with some training of some kind afterwards and you’re setting up a steady career.
You can settle into a job in matter of months mate, the new found responsibility is going to be fun, show your friends your not mug and go out and earn some dollar, you haven’t got any debt to deal with as yet so have some fun.
So what’s the deal with the debt, how much we talking? And if you don’t mind me asking, how has this all come about?

Put it this way, what is inevitable, and what isn’t?
The inevitable is everybody dies, recently I have thought about loosing my parents far too much, but seriously what has made me feel a lot better is knowing that I haven’t wasted my time with them, they’ve treated me well and my dad is an idol of mine. To carry on his outlook on life and morals makes me feel like I’m worth having here and when they go, physically they’re not here but they’ll as ways be in my thoughts of mine and countless others.
There are many many much less fortunate then yourself, easy to say but when you really think about it, in some places just waking up is a good thing. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

You'll be ok dude, take each hurdle that life throws at you one at a time, but make sure you grab the opportunities that come your way with both hands

I left college last year and still havent got a career yet, im just working to earn money while i find out what it is i want to do (Most likely a customer service role) living for the weekend, going out getting pissed getting shagged, chilling out sundays with my Mum etc.
Dont worry about the future, just live each day likes its your last and be happy. And also from recent experience, dont ever let anyone get you down (girlfriends/Boyfriends )

life is WHAT YOU MAKE IT , there are plenty of opportunities and corporationism still hasn't taken over to the extent that working hard climbing the ladder education can't make what you want come true if you have a realistic dream.
Sitting around complaining won't change a damned thing , if you decide to be lazy bum around you'll not make much unless you scoop a 14 million to one chance.
Consider what you like to do , what you could do all day everyday and form a career around it looking at what would be best,
like to work outdoors , look for stuff like that
like offices -> accountancy/lawyer etc.
nobody will do this stuff for you , the first step to be taken is the biggest and in your hands. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. nah I prefer ,
life is full of ups and downs , downs aren't so nice when we are in them but they make us appreciate the good bits more.
Its like those people born into wayy too much money , we think our lives would be so much better if we were in their shoes but its a double edged sword in that when all things are in reach what do you look forward to? , dreaming about something keeps you occupied and helps all the shit of the world bounce off you. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Hi,
Top post, Killa. I'm happy to say that the world is a better place for my old man too. He's taught me loads, and if I end up as he is now, I'll be happy.
That said, NSRdude, I look at people his age, and some look so old, yet some, like my dad look so well. If you worry about shit, you'll find you're one of those old looking people. Look at people who were 40 in the 1960's. They look about 60! Must be because of all the worry through the lean years after the war.
My biggest regret was settling into adult life too early. (I bought a house at 18). I waited until I was 28 until I had children, thank God! The advantage of getting into adulthood early is now I'm asset rich. Own 2/3rds of this house and have a decent villa in Cyprus paid for. I've got no cash though!! Poxy air fares to Cyprus are crippling. It's such a bitch having a holiday every 2 months!
As has more or less been said, don't worry about shit that hasn't happened yet, just deal with it as it comes.
I would say, choose your career well. What you train for now is what you will likely be doing for many years. When you've got some experience and some money go see the world. It has some beautiful countries. (Some shit ones too!)
All the while, keep a bag on your dick, because once you have children your whole life changes. (Unless you're a selfish so and so). This change is not always worse, it's not just you anymore. You can't go out and do what you want where you want and with who you want. You always have to consider someone else.
The best thing is to make it over the next ten years or so that you look back and say those last ten years were worthwhile and fun. Make it so you can look back and smile at your memories. (I sound like a 70 year old!). Then when the children are grown up a bit, you can start being selfish again and having fun for you (and your wife!)
Personally, I've had a great life with more ups than downs (until recently, but that's another story, just in one of the downs at the moment. Get through this and I can start creating good memories again, although this down has been going on far too long for my liking). I could have done more, but looking at others, I could have done a hell of a lot less.
Life's great, it's people that fuck it up.
On that note, don't trust anyone with your personal shit. Friends get jealous when you make it, then use whatever they can to bring you down, and man can friends cause some shit. I think I've got just one friend who I can really trust, and that's only because he's got nothing to be jealous of. The only other people I can trust fully are my dad, mum and sister.
Good luck. It's life, you only get one go, so make the best of it. ____________________ Check my website. look at my profile though as putting it here would be spamming methinks (I worked hard to create it so at least look at it!) In comparison to This you are having a good day with no worries.
Put things into perspective and look at the bigger picture in life. You only live once and if you spend most of it worrying about tomorrow, you miss what is going on today. |
