My post was a generalisation thx1138, not specifically aimed at you.

Again, to put a flip side on the "it might mean alot" argument. Has it occurred to anybody that when Little Johnny starts mithering about wanting a 125, BCF is one of the first places Google throws up. Cue Little Johnny's parents researching the best way to get their darling on the road and finding pages and pages of obituaries, accident links and "I fell off, WAY COOL!". Great impression to make, isn't it. Also just as, if not more, likely as someone looking for articles on dead friends or relatives.

I don't particularly care either way, meself. It's why I usually skip these threads totally unless it's a forum regular recounting his tale of personal woe. Just pointing out the other side of the argument, these threads tend to be non-productive and a bad advertisement.

Reading that a 19year old was killed is sad even if you don't know him. Poor lad just starting out in life.
Surely you would be a very cold person if you did'nt give a shit!!

Also reading about it might make others think about how they ride their bikes, they might be safer riders!!

Reading about bikers dying didn't have any impact on my riding style whatsoever, it's like somebody warning me about wearing boots. I occasionally wore my trainers, but crashing with boots on made me think "shit, i could have lost my foot if i had trainers on." People never learn by being told. they have to make their own fuck ups, because most people are infallible stubborn little creatures such as myself.

I'm sorry to hear about a biker dying, but there is a weird tendancy to post these things up, and it is actually quite morbid. The next level up is raiding the ogrish archives...

Ah, i'd seen this guy about, Robin Hill is 30 seconds away from where i live too, he had quite a nice little NSR. Anyhow, i've ben informed that the reason he died was because he didn't put his helmet on properly by a friend. It wasn't fastened at the bottom, and when the collision happened it came off and he landed head first, it is a pity and a waste. You can never take your personal safety for granted.
