Looks good. Needs a bit of a clean and I think £12.50 for a can of ACF-50 to stop the progression of any rust would be money well spent.

I have ridden the bike more than 400 miles and the thing felt fine.

At 2K which I got the price down too in the end it was a good deal, and I had a good check over the bike and all it really needs is a good clean. I was allmost tempted too give it a good clean myself as I had stored it here a few days before I could have the time to take it down. But then I thought to myself "whats andy gonna do with it if he cant ride it and its clean" so then decided against it.

Then came the what should have been 300.7 mile ride down with the thing which ended up being 330some because I am a bit retarded when it comes to the south, my spider sences were failing me so I got off the M25 and just got as far south as I could which was sign posted hastings and then remembered the road that where andy lives is on and joined it and then asked a road worker for directions who sent me the right way.

It wasnt a completly selfless act taking the bike down I must add as I did kinda want a test ride on a Z750 to see if I fancied one myself...

Thumbs Up

Enjoy it Andy.

Not sure if its just a kwak thing, afterall people say that suzukis disolve quickly aswell. But i have heard a huge amount about the z750 specifically rusting into nothing if not cared for......so look after her.

Just be careful Andy, don't rush into anything.

I still get pretty severe aches and pains from riding the bike, even though I've been cleared to do so by my consultant. It's not worth risking your future enjoyment just to start riding again a few months early. I'm a fat knacker now mostly because I overdid things, and re-started work/riding/gym at the same time, and ended up having to take time off from some of them to recover. Your injuries seemed to be more severe than mine - so chill out! It's frustrating, but whenever I get irritated at not yet being able to do things as quickly or cleanly as I used to, I remember that it was touch and go whether I'd be able to walk properly again, let alone scrap/ride/run/work out etc.

It's a pain, and the advice seems (and probably is) patronising and annoying, but you have to balance the risks.

As others have said - only you can make the decision.

Nice bike, btw Wink

Nice bike, needs some serious TLC, with the rust situation. It looks a bit neglected to be honest, but it should be easy enough to sort out.

Just be careful when you get on the bike. You were used to a V-twin 650 and now you have a 6+ month wait since you crashed, so don;t go pulling that throttle too hard, that 750 inline 4 will really pull after a certain amount of revs and being a 750 I bet it'll still have quite an amount of torque too.

Have fun cleaning.

Jon.

Yea, Z750's are known for it. To be honest my SV was a bit rusty after taking her though a winter so doesnt bother me. Im going to get the worst off (shock being the worst place) and pretect it against corrosion, something that the last owners may have forgot to do i think.

Its not the tidiest of Z750 but i wanted something to keet me busy as cleaning and rust removing is alright but full blown rebuild is too much for my arm.

The fund came to a massive £700 in the end. I was so shocked it was that much so decided it would only be spent on another bike out of respect of the people that donated Thumbs Up (and i wanted another bike Very Happy)

Next weekend im going to get all the stuff and start getting it looking really nice. I think ill start with really good clean and polish and then T-Cutting

Ive deided im going to restrict it Shocked . It going to be restricted untill i think im really to de-restrict it. I know it will propably bore me stupid since i was used to the Sv's power and that more than double a restricted bike but i dont want to go everywhere fast like i used to

The restrictions in the throttle Thumbs Down it will take a lot of willpower not to take em out or 'Adjust' them, powers a plenty so like's been said go easy but im sure you will. Thumbs Up Karma
A good clean is needed, ive seen the care your sv recieved so its in good hands - i need to get in a cleaning routine as the kwaks are notorious for rust Cool
