...that's right: I passed my A2 test at approximately 10:30am yesterday morning. Very chuffed with myself as I was quite nervous going into it but as I got going I found that I didn't really take notice of the examiner behind me.

Racked up a grand total of 3 minors which probably could've been avoided if I'd have known the speed limit. Got 2 for going too slow and the other for 'undue hesitation'. I thought that it was better to go too slow than over the limit, just is case. Sad

Got my bike ready, passed the MOT last weekend, hoping to get insurance sorted out A.S.A.P... Bennetts quoted me about £450 for my ZXR400 so I'm just making sure that's the cheapest I can get and then I'll be well away.

Any East Anglian riders: look out for me on a road near you soon.

Very Happy

Well done. Smile

Bennett's probably won't be the cheapest for you, make sure you ring round. They won't budge on their prices either. Rolling Eyes

I'm surprised. Many people have told me that Bennetts are quite pricey but they've been the cheapest (by far) of all the companies I've tried. Most seem to like giving me quotes of about £750... Sad

I know my bike is only a YBR125 but Bennetts were the cheapest for me by a long shot.

I spent a while with a copy of biketrader in front of the computer getting online quotes. I'm 35 and have no history of driving/riding anything, no no-claims, nothing.

Most insurers were quoting prices in the region of £290 for TPFT, Bennetts was £142. Smile

Big difference.

Thumbs Up

Try express insurance, they re insured my zxr400 for 295 quid today tpft with 0 ncb, but I'm an old git at 22 Wink

You have to get an online quote, then phone and tell them to beat it. Dont forget to say that bennets quoted you like 330 quid or something Thumbs Up

Hi,

Congrats. I'm looking to go for my a2 without any training - what did you have to do on your exam day and how long did it last?
Many Thanks.

If you see a dark red GPZ with a big scratch along the fairing that's me! Try phoning Motorcycle Direct, they gave me £362 TPFT on my GPZ unlimited mileage and cover for other bikes (1 year's no claims). Their number is 08702 642323. Cheapest I could find by miles. Phone quotes definitely tend to be cheaper on a bike. Ride safe!
