As per title, say for a Honda CBR600, how much would it cost if you dropped it and broke lots of plastic?

To replace brand new from Honda, we're talking £100s. Per panel.

Have a look on https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ for the scary numbers.

However, CBR600s are common enough that some time spent on ebay can mean big savings.

Hi

To make the pound more stable, the UK is thinking of using the "Japanese Plastic Standard" to base its value on. This is because Japanese plastic is more expensive than the gold that the pound used to be based on.

Seriously, fairings for bikes are hideously expensive. Honda were proud that they had kept the price of a complete set of replacement plastics for the CBR600 down to £600 when they released the bike. And that was in 1987.

All the best

Keith

Crash bungs for general 'try and save your fairing' protection, the other for specific areas if you feel the need.

Be aware, however, that R&G bungs are more designed to save your bike than your plastics, so they aren't a complete magic solution.

Certainly, but the problem there is, bungs, especially R & G's (because they are massive), have been known to do more damage than just crashing anyway.
If your bung catches a drain cover, for instance, it can cause the bike to flip.
They've also been known to bend frames.

Places like the Rufforth auto jumble near York often has people selling virgin white race fairings that might be able to help.
There's no location in your profile so you might be able to find somewhere closer to you, wherever you are.

If not in too many pieces there's always plastic welding and/or fibreglass backing to try (do a search on here and google for how to).

Thumbs Up
