Another question, what IS the restrictor? I've heard it's just a bolt, but I doubt it is....is it? ____________________ .: NinjaBoy :. |

i have a restricted bandit 600 and its just fine...ive got a race can on it so it makes the revs smooth though the gears instead of it bogging at high revs...mine tops around 100-110 indicated and it hasnt restricted the acceleration that much really still does 0-60 in about 5 seconds ish. A restrictor is 4 washers that go in your carbs that resctrict the bhp to 33bhp.
hpe that helps

Rather than start a new thread i tough i may aswell use this one as its the same topic.
I was just ringing round getting quotes for the 33bhp kits inc. fitting and its going to cost a bit more than i thought.
DMC - £250
QB Motorcycles - £135 labour and £110 for the kit = £245
Cradley Kawasaki - depends on how long it takes to fit. Avg. 2hrs labour at £45p/h so = £225 - 250
I thought they cost about £150 ____________________ CBT - Done | Theory - Passed | Test - 4th Oct [PASSED!]

Jesus That's quite a bit really. And doesn't it affect your insurance aswell becuase it's classified as a 'Performance Modification?' Even though it slows the bike down, it's just classed as a Performance Mod I think. Does anyone know how badly it affects your insurance? ____________________ .: NinjaBoy :. |

steveh, after getting those quotes for the restrictors, im quite interested im making my own. Any chance you could get a pic of one of the restrictor washers and get the sizes of the holes? Don't worry if its too much hassle ____________________ CBT - Done | Theory - Passed | Test - 4th Oct [PASSED!]

Jay
It costs the garages £139.95 including next day delivery for the kit directly from F.I Anything more is labour charges.
Alternatively, do a search and find who actually make the kits themselves (a german company, f.i jsut import them) and buy one directly from germany fooor...............88 euros. |
