thats what traps are for on bikes , a large bank of capacitors wired up to the alternator in a stun gun configuration (hell even a 2nd CDI will do) with a kill switch (which as the legit rider you should use before riding) , so anybody who does ride off with it gets stunned once the speedo reaches say 40mph. 40mph being hit repeatedly with such pulses will make anybody come off , and hopefully under a lorry too.
and of course not riding in crap areas , ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will. In the end, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching. |

I'd also note that those langyards which attach key to your glove or jacket are also highly useful, ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Had it attempted on me on me Mito... I just stuck me finger on the horn to get attention of anyone nearby whilst punching facewards with carbon-protected gloves.... they soon gave up and legged it.
S'why I take my keys out of the ignition whilst riding and stick em in me pocket. If I need to kill the engine in a hurry, s'wot the killswitch is there for (plus I've had me keys jump out of the ignition half way round a roundabout, and 10mins later - upon realising - had to turn round and retrace steps to find the buggers). ____________________ FAB-Racing MiniMotoSidecars - Back with a vengeance - F1 Class 2011...

this was mentioned in another thread but

it has a engine killswitch on it, you can remotley kill the power from up to 100m away. keep the fob in a seperate pocket from the keys and watch the chavs fly as the engine stops beneath them! I'll be getting me one of these, methinks, for the comedy value if nothing else, they think they've pulled it off and then the engine dies 25 meters down the road and refuses to start again ____________________ Insurance Beehatch Supremo- Direct any grumbles about repudiated claims my way

Two tried in Leicester, head butt + upper cut for one, the other bottled it and ran, asked a friend in the police about it and he said not to follow it up as I would probably be looking at a charge of GBH ____________________ Don't let the Chaos

i got an alarm with immobiliser a cyclone c-11 will do the trick upto 100m i keep the keyfob in my pocket i'de advise onyone with a decent bike or theif magnet e.g scooters to get one either that or drive a shed like me lol..
word of warning though make sure nothing knocks the fob in your pocket its happened for the first time today having the alarm go off and the engine die is embarrassing especially when you turn alarm off and the bike backfires when you start it again ____________________ Obtained Full Licence 31st of July

"Never pick a fight with someone in body armour..."
Never had an issue but wary of it as a friend was carjacked at gunpoint about a mile away from my house. I think to be honest it's less likely to happen to a biker as people are more likely to be able to drive a car than ride a bike and without a helmet they are immediately visible to the police as a thief or an illegal rider.
I was riding through Leeds and Bradford though at the weekend and was wary of everything around me as there were a few rough areas on the route. Mind you, there were two of us on the bike so less likely to have someone try and steal the bike. I did see quite a few guys on big quads (no protective gear and no plates) though nipping down the rat runs...

i had this on my old motorhispania rx50 about 4 years ago after about 8 months of ownership but needless to say i knew who came off worse as im pretty strong and having had my armour on and my kevlar gloves they were pretty much bug*ered. Its not a good feeling but it is when you beat them sh**tless. ____________________ Will b- Sv650s sport K6 in napolean blue and loving it -https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/EscortBoy1/jackson.gif |
