has anyone used a dremel or similar kind of sanding tool to polish the throat and slide of their carburetor? i mean really polishing it up making it as smooth as a mirror (getting rid of those really small divots in the throat) and looking like a mirror or a new shinny 50p peice, iv done it twice to 2 of my scooters i have owned (i own a cagiva super city 125 6-speed now) and i thought i could feel a difference in throttle response!
has anyone herd of this being done before with increases in performance? as im tempted to do it to my 34mm carb for my cagiva.

The air-fuel mixture entering a carburetted engine benefits from the turbulence created by the uneven surfaces of the inlet manifold.
It helps disperse atomised fuel evenly across the air stream which contributes to better combustion.
If you must whittle away at a manifold, do the inside of the exhaust.
But then you may even upset OEM designed airflow characterisics.
And 'Tuning' is always a balance of effort in to effort out.
Or go to the pub.
Ride your bike some where nice.
