Its only temporary but its better than nothing.

If anyone here buys big chunks of industrial steel from the likes of Corus, pm me and i might be able to get you a deal.

Not got my start date yet but it should be soon.

thanks guys, dragonfly has made me a bit nervous, but this is just a temp job so it shd be fairly soon probably next week

if i dont hear anything next week, i will start asking for interviews again

One guy there is into bikes and has a fairly new z750 and goes on bike rallys getting pissed for a weekend, so before the interview started and the main bloke arrived, we were chatting about bikes. There is a girl with a nice figure who seems quite friendly so she might be fun to flirt with

Small office but they all seem ok.

Bit early to start offering ppl inside deals when you haven't started. Doubt you'd get those kind of benefits being temp staff anyway.

Don't flirt too hard, she may slap a restraining order on you.

Ive done sales jobs before and the standard thing is if we can beat your current supplier on price we have a chance of winning your business.

Im not making out I am negotiating sales, Im clearly not, but if someone buys steel, we could sell it them, and maybe cheaper than their current supplier.

My job will be finding people who may be interested in changing suppliers. I will be ringing a whole list of companies finding out what they use, who makes the buying decisions etc If there is one buyer on BCF, then let them pm me.

I doubt it but you never know.

So its not a benefit, its my job, and if i dont find any buyers I might not have it very long Smile

If I find lots of buyers interested in a deal, it could be quite good, and thats what im hoping for.

As for the flirting, I think its only polite that I flirt a bit but I doubt I'd get so keen as to be much of a nuisance for her.

She works with two 40 year old blokes so by comparison i may be a bit of an improvement.

(No offence to all you 40 year old blokes out there Smile )

Just think you'll be able to buy florescent cycle clips and extra reflectors now to go with your outfits. Laughing

buy them ?

i picked up a reflective vest in the street the other day must have been used by a road worker or something

little tatty but does the job better than my reflective belt wotsit

Have to admit I dont wear it that often, but I will when commuting to work.

I have felt a bit daft having bought a bike to commute on and not having a job to commute to, and just using it to go to the shops Smile

a sub section of Corus, formerly known as british steel

i dont know a lot about the product yet, but its very thick steel used for heavy manufacturing and construction

so crane manufacture, yellow goods (jcbs etc), bridges, we can also get you a contact in corus for any products our section dont do but other sections do do, for example I-beams

dont worry, not yours

i think its called midland something or other

not really sure.

a bit of googling suggests its 'midlands steel supplies' but there is another corus thingy on the same industrial estate, so my one might be different.

part of 'corus construction and industrial' i think

So what do you do for Corus ? Long term, i might try to shift from telemarketing to engineering within corus as i have a mechanical engineering degree. Do any people at your site have engineering degrees ? Do they take on people for that sort of post without experience ?

my office dont actually deal with the slitting mill (or whatever they call it) on the same industrial estate. My office controls stock which is in scunthorpe. Its a new 'business' within corus. Its been going since august before last i think. Looking to expand. Boss says we have increased market share rapidly as corus werent in this particular market before. He says theres much more expansion planned. At the moment I cant tell if they are doing well or badly but as long as i get paid, it should be ok.
