Meta M357tV2 key conversion version?

How do i convert the alarm fob to a key it says it possible.

Using the key conversion kit that comes with the alarm. It has full instructions as well.

I have just had the alarm fitted on my new bike. It came with a small key fob and another key fob that can be converted into a key fob but that was all that came with it there was no conversion kit??

i asked my dealer last time i was there about this - but my key was not compatible, for a Yamaha R6 2003 anyway - has immobiliser chip in the key, and therefore cannot be done

The key fob can be converted but i am not sure how tbh. I think I need a spare key then get it cut then stick it in side the fob. Dont think I will bother now as its ok the way it is.

You need to make sure that the key conversion will work okay with your ignition switch first. My bike, which is a 2003 R6 won't accept the key conversion. I don't want to dispute what Wooly R6 posted above, but because of the shape of the ignition switch on the R6, ie the key slot is recessed down inside the outer casing, the Meta key conversion won't work because the Meta casing is physically too chunky to fit down into the recess. Apart from that I understand that there is a slot inside the meta fob to put the immobiliser chip in from your original key, so that shouldn't be a problem.

So then sickpup, do the Datatool's do key conversions as well as the Meta's? I'll let you into a little secret, one of my mates who has his Meta has also got the key conversion. I must admit that I wasn't too impressed with the key conversion on the Meta, the key never seemed very secure or tightly fitted in the Meta fob and didn't inspire confidence in it. On the other hand it was more convenient, ie you didn't have to have the extra alarm fob dangling on your keyring as well as your ignition key.

I think it might be you trying to initiate dejá vu.

No datatool don't do a key conversion. The give you a nice quality lanyard to hang around your neck so the fob doesn't get damaged.

You shouldn't ever have the fob on your key ring as it may get damaged by vibration and small impacts.

Is it just me that thinks having your alarm fob and key on the same key ring is a bad idea?
If someone swipes it, they have your bike with no problems - seperate key rings for each is the way to go!

Pssst. Thats why you program a Pin on a Datatool.

No your fob isn't water or vibration proof.

Mines been going on about a pin as well I think I need to read up on that bit just incase i lose the fob while out and about
