right first you need to find the regulator, its connected to the altenator, there are 5 wires at the connector 3 come from the alternator (usually yellow)
and one black one - one red one +
they go to the battery any way (via a fuse)
also to the starter motor and the ignition,
so you have a few choices 1st wire strait from the battery (im assuming you have a battery)
2 wire from the ignition,
make sure you have a on and off switch.
personally i would wire from the ignition switch, that way when you kill the bike the light goes off and you don't end up with a flat battery
hope that helps a bit,
so basically find the wire on the ignition that supplys 12v only when the ignition is on(if you have a battery) or when the bike is running(if you don't have a battery)
break into that wire and join a wire from it to one side of your switch, from the other teminal of the switch wire to one side of the light from the other side put a wire to earth,
thats it
easy peezy lemon squeezy ____________________ the humans are dead

ok, so it has no key??
if not then you have to do it via the rectifier, which is connected to the alternator, just like i said about the previous hook up but do it with the red and black wires instead of from the ignition,
sweet? chances are that you probly already have wiring in place,
have you got a test light or a multimeter?
if so then start testing the connectors around the yoke area untill you find 12 volts (or your test light comes on)
the bike has to be running for there to be any power ____________________ the humans are dead
