I dropped the bike this morning, minor damage, the mirror & bar end scratched, the left fairing has suffered multiple small scratches. It was an immaculate bike....
As it is black plastic, once i've got the white dust out and cleaned it up what can i do for a repair?
Thanks

Ah soz dude, will get some pics then, they are pretty small although i think a little deep, not just surface ones.
Not sure if my camera on my phone will show, but i'll try later. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Why hadn't you fitted R&G's to it? If it was immaculate more fool you really
Still it's a shame it's happened, hope you get it sorted soon.

As to what can you use to fill in the scratches, try this guy. https://www.bike-paint.co.uk. Used him before and the matches are verygood. Once had to fix a mates green zx6r and the touch-up was bang on - kawasaki lime green is a tough colour to match |

Thanks for the tips, i've always been in two minds about the protectors, the hole obviously makes the fairing worthless without the R&G bung in there, but at the same time can save this sorta thing happening.
Perhaps i should get some, can your local bike dealer sort them out? Looks easy enough, but i dont have the tools. |
Yes, almost any dealer will fit them for you. In fact, if you are unsure about doing it yourself it's best to get them to do it anyway. That way if all goes wrong they get landed with the bill for a new fairing not you.
If you do fit them yourself all you really need is a some tip-ex, a small drill bit (pilot hole) and a hole cutter. I use a conical cutter myself and then a large grinding stone burr to finish the edges off. It's very much a case though of measure twice, measure again just to make sure, then cut.
This video helps explain it all in more detail: |

NOoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
Did you pass through the 'oh shit, no return' moment after which it the bike dropped to the floor in slow motion or was it totally unexpected?
Either way, time to get out the t-cut and wax... The scratches I had on my plastics are not too deep yet I was told the only way to 'repair' was to re-spray. Maybe see if you can get some matching paint made up and touch up the marks by hand then give them another good polish. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!
